Chapter 7

Friday

"Alright everyone Recruitment starts today!" Altair announced, "Thankfully the University let us borrow the fields for our endurance test and we can use our hangout room for the interviews and then of course the surprise test at the end." The whole Brotherhood was currently at their hangout spot; it was an old classroom that was never used anymore so the Brotherhood converted it into their meeting spot. There were roughly around fifty or so members and hopefully with Recruitment they would have about sixty "Let's split everyone into groups and get to work!". Everyone split off and got started Altair was nervous but excited. Soon 5 pm hit and it was time for the new initiates to come and get started. As the new initiates walked in, Altair saw Jacob, Evie, Eivor, Aveline, and Arno. He was glad this group wanted to try out and he liked them. The first two hours were a meeting and great to see how people were and how they interacted with others and now it was time for the real test.

Altair then walked to the front of the classroom and went to the podium "Hello everyone I hope you enjoyed the meet and greet. My name is Altair and I'm the president. We will do a series of tests and if you pass, welcome to the Brotherhood. Your first test will be an endurance test out on the intramural fields. Finish within the time frame and you pass if not then see you later. The test starts now, good luck!" Altair announced this and immediately the room started shuffling out to the intramural fields.

"What the hell?" Evie said as she started running along with the others "I was not aware of this"

"It was on the flier to wear sporty clothing" Aveline panting keeping up with the others "I figured it would be something like this"

"Isn't this like borderline hazing?" Arno asked, keeping a good pace.

"No, I mean we're here on our accords" answered Eivor

"I don't know about yall but I'm winning see ya at the finish line" Jacob sprinted ahead.

The intramural fields were a good way off campus so they weren't disturbing the campus with all the ruckus. The group then made it to the intramural fields and saw an obstacle course. The course started with cones everywhere with a mud pile. Then tube things for them to crawl through after that were monkey bars. Then at the end, there was a very tall wall for them to climb over while all this was happening members were watching and keeping time. If anyone was caught cheating it was an automatic out.

"We have about 15 minutes left, let's go!" Eivor exclaimed and started the course. Aveline and Arno followed behind him

"Jacob, I'll race you! Loser twin has to do whatever the other one wants" Evie challenged.

"Oh, you're on you haven't beat me see we were two" Jacob stated and ran ahead.

Everyone made it through the cones just fine Jacob wanted to push Evie but he remembered they both needed to finish. Everyone got to the tubes. Evie and Jacob started fighting over who went first while Aveline, Arno, and Eivor crawled through; laughing at the madness going on around them. Everyone was running and shouting while members were telling them how much longer they had. The whole thing is absurd but amusing nevertheless. Next up were the monkey bars and they all had about 7 minutes left. Everyone got across with ease. Then finally was the massive wall. At this point, there were about 4 minutes left. Arno was a pro and went ahead with ease. He loved climbing since he was a kid and would frequently visit parkour gyms back home. Everyone was amazed as he made his way up the wall.

"I'm used to climbing around New Orleans back home see ya at the top" Aveline jumped up on the wall and started the ascent to the top.

"Alright, Jacob all or nothing" Evie looked at Jacob.
