Chapter 34

Brotherhood elections were coming up on Sunday. Every Spring Semester The Brotherhood had to elect new positions. This was done by the person giving a small speech on why they should be picked. Then after that members would vote on a slip of paper. Evie was excited and was eating lunch with Jacob at the cafe. "I hope to become the Treasurer," she said eating her sandwich.

"I hope you get it" Jacob replied taking a sip of water "I'm not doing anything since I have the Rooks and myself to care about"

"True how are the Rooks by the way," Evie asked. She loved that her brother had made a club and found his people

"Great we've been volunteering and helping others on the campus. Alexios even wants to join" Jacob was happy about that. He and Alexios had gotten closer since he joined the Brotherhood.

Evie was glad to hear Alexios was better. She still could not believe that the hot-headed roommate was now her brother's friend. "Well, he will make a great addition"

Jacob nodded "He will. How are you and Henry by the way? You both seem so happy when we are in history together" Jacob was getting tired of it but was happy for Evie. She and Henry were always making googly eyes at one another when their professor is going over the brutality of the French Revolution.

"Oh, we are doing great! We went to a haunted house the other day and found evidence. Then afterward we got dinner." Evie was glad Henry shared her love of ghosts. They made a great team and were happy about that.

Jacob rolled his eyes "Leave it to you to find a haunted house a cute date."

Evie reached across the table and lightly hit Jacob's arm "be nice. I need a ghost-hunting buddy since others don't believe"

Jacob then swatted her hand away and laughed. He was thankful Evie found her someone. He hoped Henry would take her to the formal dance they have at the end of the semester. She deserved it. "Anway I'm excited for Spring Break. I need a break and a pina colada"

"Oh my god that sounds amazing" Evie was dreaming of one now. "I have already started making an itinerary along with Altair. I can't believe we are all going to be in the Bahamas at the same time" They had all found out when Altair made Maria give him more swim lessons and everyone was suspicious. Evie was just nervous about Aveline and Conner. There seemed to be so much tension between them. On top of that, Evie noticed Aveline hardly mentioned or did anything with Gerald.

"Really an itinerary Evie's it's a vacation we need to enjoy it" Jacob sighed. He loved his sister, but she was just so by the book.

"And?" Evie glared at him "We lose time by not knowing what to do. Don't worry I cut out time specifically for relaxing"

Jacob laughed and rolled his eyes he knew there was no way to argue with his sister. "I wonder how Altair will do?" Jacob still thought it was hilarious how Altair almost killed Maria on Valentine's day.

"Who knows" Evie shrugged.

"Altair! Altair" Maria snapped at him. They were currently in the shallow end of the pool. She had asked Altair something, but he seemed sidetracked.

"What?" He then looked at her.

"I said let's go to the deep end. I think you're doing a lot better. Where are you today" she looked at him concerned.

He shook his head "Sorry I'm good I was just thinking of Brotherhood elections. I'm having to give up my presidency soon and I want to make sure whoever gets it deserves it" Altair was nervous. The Brotherhood meant so much to him and the thought of it being ruined scared him. Luckily though everyone was great save for Bellec he somehow got in and no one knows how.
