Chapter 27

"Where is he?" Aveline asked Gerald while typing on their group chat with Maxwell. They all decided to meet on main quad and discuss preparations and Jacob was meeting them to see how many Rooks needed to be used.

"I don't know this is ridiculous" he complained.

"Hello plebs I have arrived" Maxwell walked up. Once again wearing a crazy outfit.

"Alright let's get started. We need to pick a story we want to write about first and then figure out who to cast" Aveline explained as they all walked over to a picnic table to write stuff down and take notes.

"I think we should do Oedipus Rex but mix it up. It's dramatic and I should play Oedipus" Maxwell declared with a grin. He loved the theatre. His parents were a part of the stage and he got to experience it. Aveline and Gerald then both made a face.

Gerald then spoke up "Eww no it should be something we all know about what about Prometheus? That could be easy to spin"

"Yeah, but that's lame" Maxwell countered back. Gerald was about to scream this man was being difficult.

"What if we did a story of Hades and Persephone? A lot of people know about it and could be easy for us. Plus, everyone writes so many different stories on it we could get it to work" Aveline wanted to get this right and also be done with Maxwell.

"You're not wrong" Maxwell scoffed. "Sounds good to me I guess"

"I like the idea!" Gerald was glad about this he loved the story. "We just need to figure out who to cast."

"True let me text Jacob to come to meet us for the extras and see what we can work with." Aveline texted him and Jacob said he would be there asap. At this time, they worked on a rough outline. Obviously, they needed Persephone, Hades, Zeus, Demeter, Hekate, and many more. Aveline however was excited about this.

"So how do you think we can rewrite the play?" Gerald asked Aveline since she had the ideas.

"Well, what if Persephone wanders into the Underworld instead of being kidnapped." Aveline was not a fan of the being kidnapped and falling in love with their captor trope.

"That's actually smart what if we also have muses narrating like they do in Hercules" Maxwell suggested. Everyone agreed and wrote down their ideas. Soon Jacob walked up.

"Hey, guys what are you planning?"

"Oh Jacob, this is Maxwell Roth by the way. He's in our group" Aveline introduced him.

It hit Jacob this was the guy he told the redhead girl he had a one-night stand with during Brotherhood recruitment. He hoped nothing would come out of that.

"How do you do" he looked at Jacob. Jacob was easy on the eyes for him.

"I'm fine." Jacob thought this dude was weird.

"Anway we are spinning the classic tale of Persephone and Hades" Gerald explained. "We need a lot of people"

"Perfect I know a lot of people" Jacob sat down and started helping them. As they were all scheming it was decided Maxwell would play Zeus and Aveline Persephone. Gerald wanted to be in the back being the director and stagehand.

"So, Jacob do you want to be Hades," Aveline asked.

"Hmm, I don't know. I don't feel like I'm the right guy. We need someone tall and intimidating but also the biggest softy. Oh, I know who it is" Jacob's whole face lit up "Conner Kenway. He's the perfect Hades" Jacob was terrified by Conner at fight club but he was so nice after he was done beating his opponent.

Maxwell wanted to impress Jacob and see that look of joy on his face again "I agree he would be perfect!" He smiled looking directly at Jacob. Jacob then looked away disturbed.
