Everything is Due ; Nothing is submitted

Chapter 17

Conner was absolutely dominating at the fight club. His fighting was brutal but effective. Robert Topping was impressed and so badly wished he could let people place bets but he was not messing with the IRS again. As Conner was fighting with Eivor in the center Ezio and Jacob were watching.

"Damn Conner seems pissed is everything okay" Jacob observed how Conner seemed more brutal and left hooked Eivor pretty good.

"Yeah, he's just having relationship issues and is taking it out on the ring," Ezio replied. He felt bad for Conner. His love life and family life were just a complete and utter mess. Ezio felt bad because his life was the exact opposite.

"Yeah, Eivor is also so at least these two can get it out in the ring" Jacob had heard Arno talking to Eivor about dating apps and all that. Jacob wasn't sure if he was ready to date. He could barely keep up with himself and that took ninety percent of his time the other ten percent was his Rooks. The fight ended with Conner getting Eivor into a headlock to which Eivor tapped out.

"AND we have a winner" Robert screamed and jumped onto the ring. He grabbed Conner's hand and put it in the air. Conner blushed a bit he was not a fan of being the center of attention. Conner and Eivor then exited the stage.

"Good fight man" Eivor huffed and shaked Conner's hand.

"Yeah, you too sorry if I was too brutal" Conner apologized. He was just so mad at the world and this was a perfect outlet to get it out.

"Trust me man I get it" assured Eivor.

"Congrats you guys killed it" Ezio came up and congratulated them along with Jacob.

"Yeah, for real I'm never messing with yall" laughed Jacob. He did not want to be on the receiving end of those punches. The group then packed up and headed back to homestead. They were all tired and sweaty from the events tonight.

"Well catch you guys later" waved Ezio as Eivor and Jacob made their way to the elevator. Ezio then turned and looked at Conner "Okay dude what the hell is going on with you? You were an absolute beast in the ring"

Conner then let out a long sigh. "I've really been struggling. I'm going to my mom's tomorrow morning and then I still need to talk to Kassandra. I just... I don't know love is complicated"

"you're telling me. But for real if you need anything let me know" Ezio assured.

Conner smiled "thanks man I'll figure it out." Conner then made his way up to his room after saying goodbye to Ezio. He was dreading seeing his mom tomorrow. He loved her but everything just seemed so awkward. It took him forever to fall asleep due to the thoughts keeping him awake. As he finally drifted off what felt like moments later his alarm went off. He slowly got up and dressed. He started his way to the car and then ran into a certain someone in the lobby.

"Ohh umm hey Aveline..." Conner awkwardly greeted.

"Conner...hi" Aveline was not making much eye contact. It was so uncomfortable for both of them.

"I just want to apologize for the last time and-" Conner started sputtering.

"Save it please" Aveline interrupted holding her hand up. "Listen you have stuff you need to clearly work out and I can't help you with that. Also, I'm with someone right now and I'm really happy about it so please just..." Aveline trailed off.

"Yeah, no I get it" Conner then walked away. It was already a great morning he thought to himself. He got into his car and started the drive home. He was nervous about this but the sooner he figured everything out the sooner he could feel better about relationships. The hour drive went by fast and Conner pulled into his neighborhood as he saw his house, he saw a luxury car parked in the driveway. He knew only one person to drive that car. "Fuck" he thought to himself this morning kept getting worse and worse. Conner got out of the car and marched into his house. As Conner walked in he saw his parents in the living room. "What are you doing here?" Conner asked sternly.
