Chapter 26

Conner, Elise, and Arno were in physics. Dr. O'Brian was lecturing. As this was happening Elise was taking notes not on physics but on her plan. The class then wrapped up. Elise debated on following him but decided not to. She then pulled Conner and Arno to the side. "Guys I have a plan" she then held up her paper. "Conner, I need you to meet with your dad and get the details on why Shay left."

"What why?" Conner did not want to speak to his dad. They were on better terms but still, that was when Ziio was around.

"Umm hello Shay and Haytham are like BFFs and your dad is Haytham. Do I have to be more obvious" she rolled her eyes.

"Ugh fine. They meet every Saturday and I'm pretty sure this is my dad's week."

Elise then looked at Arno "Arno tell Conner what else you found."

"I was looking at the Composite for the Brotherhood" (A Composite is when a sorority or frat takes picture of every member each year to document growth. Some schools also do this) "and I saw Shay. He was in the brotherhood along with Dr. O'Brian and Dr. Jensen. Also, Dr. Achilles was a notable advisor at the same all three of them went through" Arno was just looking and when he saw them he almost screamed.

"Wait for real. Shay is in the Templars?" Conner replied shocked. Conner felt like he should have known Shay was in the Brotherhood but he never looked at the old composites.

"Yeah, but here's the thing the science department is primarily people from the Brotherhood whereas the business department is primarily Templars. Is that why they don't like each other?" Elise asked looking at Conner.

"I mean I wouldn't be surprised I know Dr. Achilles is head of the science department and was mad that I dared to be Haytham's son" Conner finally did warm up to him but it took a semester.

"Hmm that's interesting we can work with that," Elise said writing in her notes. "Okay, Conner we will tape a wire to you and listen in on your conversation with Haytham and his friends go it?"

"Umm okay. You know I can just report back to you?" Conner said.

"No, I want to hear it in real-time!" Elise responded.

"Okay, whatever. This is going to be a long Saturday" Conner sighed.

Saturday

Conner called his dad and asked if he could stay at his place Saturday night. He told Haytham the fire alarm kept going off at Homestead and he needed to study for a test. Haytham was surprised but agreed. Luckily Haytham lived only 15 minutes from Campus. Elise had given Conner the wire to get the conversation. Elise and Arno were sitting in Arno's room waiting for Conner to turn on the wire. After about thirty minutes they heard a click and Conner texted them it was a go.

Conner walked into the living room and saw his dad and friends watching a game. He then saw Shay in the kitchen getting food. Bingo, he thought. He had talked to Shay occasionally and liked him the most out of everyone. "Hey, Shay how are you?" Conner then got food to look the part.

"I'm good how are classes been for you so far?" Shay knew that Conner was in the science department he still had ill feelings for certain people there.

"Good but there is this one professor who is just...oh never mind it's rude to talk about people" Conner knew he hooked Shay. Let's face people love to gossip, especially about someone you hate.

Shay then leaned forward "Who is it?" he asked intrigued.

Conner then rolled his eyes "Achilles" he kept it short and simple.
