Chapter 24

Earlier

Jacob crawled into bed with a bucket. He was feeling worse and had throbbing pain on the right side of his stomach. He was also breaking out into sweats. He then fell asleep.

"Mummy" a young Jacob ran up to his mom she had brown hair pulled up into a bun and she was tending a garden. "Look I found Dandy lions for the Garden we can have unlimited wishes." he then threw himself on her laughing and holding the useless plant.

"Perfect" she smiled sweetly. "What are you going to wish for" she then played with his hair.

"I don't know maybe a new sister Evie is annoying me" he pouted. Cecily then laughed at her son. He was always so honest and goofy. "What about you mummy" he then smiled at her.

"I'm going to wish you can stay young forever so you can help me with the garden."

"I'll always stay young and help you as long as I ever live" he then got up and hugged her tightly.

"I know but sweety you do have to get up now"

"What" he then tilted his head at her.

"You need to wake up"

"But I don't want to" Jacob's voice was now deeper and he was now taller than her. "I miss you mum"

"I know but you'll see me again one day" she smiled warmly and reached up and kissed his forehead.

Jacob then woke to something wet on his head. "Are you alright?" he saw a figure looking at him holding a damp rag.

"Mom?" he said weakly.

"It's me Maria" he then saw her and was confused at what was happening.

"I think we should call 911 he looks horrible and seems delusional," Elise said.

"Jacob how are you feeling and what are your symptoms" Maria got closer to look at him. Jacob then looked at them still confused. "Okay Elise go get Aveline's car keys we need to take him to the hospital"

"Won't she be mad? We should call 911 it will be faster" Elise also knew Aveline was mad that she and Arno had fun last night.

"And more expensive America's Healthcare is an ass. Go get the car I'll get Jacob."

Elise then nodded and ran to get the keys. "Alright Jacob" Maria helped him up and he leaned on her. She grabbed his arm and put it around her and grabbed his other.

"It hurts" he murmured.

"What does," she asked as they made their way to the elevator.

"My...side" he groaned.

Maria then took note of that. They then got on the elevator and finally made it to the first floor. Elise was there waiting for them. She then helped Jacob and they got him in. Maria then got behind the wheel and started driving. Elise typed in google maps to the nearest hospital and Maria gunned it. They got to Creed Hospital and got Jacob in.

"We need help" Maria shouted as she and Elise were trying to carry a sick Jacob.

A nurse then came up and asked what happened. The girls explained everything. The nurse let them into a room. Jacob was still a bit conscious and was able to change into the hospital gown. The nurse then came in and explained that Jacob's organs were compact and that he would need to be blown up.

"What do you mean by blown up," Maria asked horrified.

"We will have to insert a tube of the rectum and have gas pumped through so we can space the organs and see the issue" she explained. Maria and Elise were horrified and looked over at Jacob who was just sitting there.
