I work for the fifth day rebuilding castle byers as best as I can from memory. It's been a little over a year since I destroyed it, so I basically have to start all the way over.

The fall leaves crunch underneath my converse ad I search for sticks sturdy enough to keep a good structure. I sing to myself as I bring them back and think about how much has changed since that day.

Mike and El broke up, I realized I am in love with him, we started hanging out almost every day again, and we're closer than ever. Sometimes I think that he might like me back because of how touchy he is and how flustered he gets when I pretend to flirt with him, but I know he doesn't feel the same.

I hum as I begin to building one of the walls, looking through the old rotting wood for any salvageable pieces. When I hear a stick crack behind me, I whip my around in pure fear.

"Mike." I sigh, jumping slightly. He's standing about two feet away and looking down in silence. We haven't talked about that day, and I'm not sure we ever will. I don't care anyone.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I was gonna invite you to the arcade, but Jonathan told me that you were probably out here." he says, walking over and kneeling down next to me.

He begins to help me pick through the rubble, and as we both stand up, our eyes meet. Our lips are only inches apart and I can hear my own heartbeat pulsing through my body. His eyes look down at my lips for just a moment and I can feel everything inside of me tense up.

I have no clue what to do.

Just as I am leaning in, he slowly leans back.

"Will, I..." Mike says, causing me to become embarrassed and back away. I swallow back a few tears.

"Mike, I'm so, so confused. I can't tell if you like me or you hate me or you just wanna be friends or what. You've been so shifty lately, and I know we've been hanging out a lot, but that's only made my feelings for you stronger." I say, his eyes slightly widening and his cheeks reddening.

"I - I know. I'm so sorry. I've been really confused to...about how I feel. How I feel about you." he says, his voice shaky and uneasy.

"Oh." I choke out.

"Yeah." he says, close to emotionless.

"So..." I say uneasily.

"So..." he repeats, inching towards me. A slight breeze causes a shiver to run down my spine as he places one of his hands on my waist. I feel my body melt at his touch and he puts his other hand under my chin and tilts it up.

"Mike you don't have to." I say, embarrassed and worried that I'm pressuring him into this.

"I want to." he says, placing his lips on mine. My arms immediately wrap around his back so that we are hugging and kissing at the same time. I stand on my tip toes he lifts me up slightly, his fluffy hair brushing against my forehead as he pulls away.

"I'm in love with you." he says, me falling back onto my flat feet in awe.
