I smile widely as the camera flashes in my eyes, causing my vision to become blurry for a second as they print out the license. The older lady hands it to me as I examine it closely, smiling at the sight of my very own drivers license.

I've been waiting for this moment since I was just a little kid. I tuck it in my pocket as my mom gives me a quick hug and we make our way to the car where I get in the drivers seat.

"I'm so proud of you! What do you wanna do to celebrate?!" mom asks as I pull out of the parking lot, the sun already setting.

"I wanna go to Will's house!" I say excitedly, turning onto the main road and continuing to drive until we reach our neighborhood. My heart begins to beat faster as I pull into his driveway.

"Have fun sweetie!" my mom says as we both climb out of the car. She switches seats as I run up to the door, knocking hard.

When Will appears in front of me, I can't help but just smile at the sight of him.

"Mike!" he says, throwing his arms around my neck and hugging me tightly. I grab his waist and pull him closer, kissing his head.

"I didn't know you were coming over." he says quietly.

"I need to show you something." I say, him immediately letting go so that he can see. I slide the license out of my back pocket and hold it up to show him as his face lights up.

"Oh my god!" he exclaims, grabbing it and looking at it closely.

"You didn't tell me you were taking your test today!" he says, hitting me playfully.

"I wanted it to be a surprise." I say, a smile plastered on my face at his joy.

"I'm so proud of you!" he says, kissing me quickly.

"Wanna go for a drive?" I ask, taking his hand. He nods eagerly as I pull him to the car, opening the passenger side door for him before getting into the drivers seat. I turn the car on as he fastens his seatbelt.

The sun has now completely set and the sky is filled with bright stars, only dim streetlights illuminating the road in front of us.

I try to keep my eyes on the road, but I can't not stare at Will to the left of me.

"Mike! Pay attention to the road!" Will giggles, but I can't keep my eyes off him even then.

"You're just so cute and I can't not look at you." I say, flicking my eyes to the road to turn the corner and then back at him to see him blushing.

I pull over to the main field, the one where we set up Dustin's machine to talk to Suzie years before.

"What are we doing?" Will asks curiously as I get out of the car and he follows.

"Let's look at the stars." I say, taking his hand. I run up the hill and he runs behind me, our fingers interlocked as we both laugh in pure pleasure.

When we reach the top, we both fall onto the ground next to each other, our hands still together and our heads towards the sky.

"It's so pretty." Will says, staring up at the stars.

"Yeah. It is." I say, staring at his beautiful features. The way his nose swoops upwards, his long eyelashes, his hair falling in his face.

"You're so pretty." I say, him now turning towards me.

"Stopppp Mike!" he giggles. He's never been good at taking compliments, but it's cute when he gets embarrassed.

"You're just so easy to compliment." I say, making him smile even wider. He lays his head on my chest, trying to hide his smile, but I know it's still there.
