Will and I say our last goodbyes to the rest of the party as they pull out of the driveway in Lucas's new car, but I can tell that something is bothering Will.

"Hey, what's up?" I ask, looking over to see tears in his eyes.

"Nothing. Im just gonna head home." he says, wiping his eyes. When he goes to grab his bike, I take his hand and pull him back to me.

"Will, you can talk to me. You know that." I say, a small smile forming on his face.

"Do you wanna go inside?" I ask, and he nods his head lightly. He follows me downstairs to the basement and we sit on the old beige sofa, our legs touching.

"So, talk to me." I say, facing him.

"It's just that - sometimes I still get flashbacks of when everything was happening, and since it's our first normal Halloween, it makes me think back to a few years ago when those guys were making fun of me and then I saw...it." he says. His words immediately take me back to that night, finding him crouched and shaking behind a house.

"Will I'm so sorry. I had no idea. I can't even imagine how hard that must be to have to relive it." I say, inching my hand towards his. We only just recently told each other how we felt, and we're not even an official couple yet. I mean we haven't even kissed.

"Remember when you brought me back here?" he asks, flashbacks of us sitting in this exact same position coming to mind.

"Yeah. I think that's when I realized how much I really liked you." I say, my leg beginning to bounce with nervousness.

"Yeah...me to. Why did you uh - why didn't you say anything?" he asks, his cheeks bright red.

"I guess I was just scared. I was always told that being like this was wrong, but I couldn't help my feelings for you, and that night here on the couch when we held hands? That was probably the best moment of my entire life." I say honestly. His cheeks turn an even darker shade of red.

"Me too. Maybe this one will top it." he says, interlocking his fingers with mine. I feel butterflies erupt in my stomach as his hand finds the back of my neck, my hand slowly moving up to his chin and tilting it up.

His green eyes glisten in the dim light of the lamp, and our lips quickly connect. The kiss is quick, but it's everything I've waited for. It makes up for what didn't happen that night, and what hasn't happened in the past few years.

When we lean away, our hands stay connected and my whole body is hot.

"That definitely topped it." I say, making him laugh.
