JUST ANOTHER miserable blood test that made Iona feel like her body was shattering- yep, just another one of those days.
Perhaps it was too soon for Iona to joke about her situation, but she was becoming hysterical. Her desire for bloodlust hadn't been satiated in days, and the lack of her katana's presence was driving her insane.
She exhaled through her teeth as the sting of a needle pricked her skin, and the burning- and sickening- sensation of blood leaving her body made her fight against her constraints.
Iona bit back a groan, grinding her teeth and balling up her fists.
She felt strangely disposable in this place, as if her life was worth nothing and her title held no weight- which wasn't entirely wrong. Mt. Weather doesn't give a damn about her, and she certainly doesn't care for them.
Still, the feeling was awful, and she couldn't help but stare angrily at every guard she saw within the halls (not that she wouldn't have done that anyways) as she was dragged back to her cage
Huffing to herself, she snarled up at the guard handling her, and stared forward as they entered the room.
Well, let's just say Iona's previously statement (one of those days) shifted drastically once she saw Bellamy hanging upside down.
A young girl stood beside him, looking oddly guilty and suspicious, before hastily murmuring, "Oh... Lovejoy- hey!"
"What are you doing here?" He questioned, and Iona felt his grip release the slightest bit at his surprise, "You aren't cleared for this facility."
"I know!" She responded immediately, and Iona raised a brow, "I'm sorry. I just wanted to see what was so special about him. But... he's dead."
Iona instantly fought against her chains, her heart sinking- it was less about the loss of the boy she barely knew, and more about the failure of their plan. Her eyes skimmed over the room, taking in the sight of hundreds of cages filled with Grounders.
Her people, her responsibility. A responsibility that she has failed to uphold.
How would she save her people without the resources of the Sky boy?
Maybe it was a bad moment for realization to strike Iona, but it had. She finally understood, even if it was just the slightest bit, for the shortest moment, that she needed Bellamy Blake to save her people.
She needed this alliance. The lives of her people hang in the balance.
Iona wanted to stand up and wander over to him on her own two feet, but once the guard let go of her and ran over to Bellamy's body, she stumbled back and hit the wall, sliding down slowly with a grimace.
Everything after that point happened in a blur.
The guard began to lower Bellamy's body, to which he took his opportunity to attack the guard. Iona was... surprised, to say the least, and watched with hazy eyes as the scene began to unfold.
Bellamy began to undo his chains, but the guard rose to his feet and held a gun to Bellamy's head.
Luckily, however, Iona concluded the girl must've been on their side because within seconds, she was injecting the guard with something inside a needle that seemed to have very little effect on him.
Instead, he only seemed to get stronger, and started tossing Bellamy around like a ragdoll.
A Grounder within a cage grabbed ahold of the guard's hand, preventing him from defending himself as Bellamy began choking him to death; once the guard had fallen, Iona let out a large cough, which then turned into laughter.
She held a hand over the bandages around her side and chuckled, pulling away a palm full of blood.
"Crazy..." She muttered disdainfully, "Somethin' so small... doin' so much harm."
Bellamy asked the girl for clothes before wandering over and lifting Iona's arm. He inspected the bloody bandage and shook his head, "I'd of thought you knew better than to reopen a wound."
She pushed against his chest in response, "I didn't mean to, you fucking idiot."
Bellamy merely smiled.
Within five minutes, the girl (who Iona discovered was named Maya), brought her a pair of clothes whilst Bellamy changed into the guards' outfit and hid his body.
"My katana," Iona demanded, holding her left side with her right hand. She glanced over at Maya, "Where are my weapons?"
"I-I don't know."
Iona growled, kicking at air and taking her head in her hands. "I'm goin' crazy over here, kid. I need my weapons, you hear? I need them!"
Bellamy put his hands on Iona's shoulders and shook her back and forth, forcing her gaze to meet his.
"Calm down, alright? We'll find them."
Iona looked between Maya and Bellamy and mumbled, "Better hope so."
