"what do you mean we can't hangout?" sophie asked, raising her voice over the phone.

the boys and i were recording when john, our producer, said we'd have to stay in the studio till late tonight if we wanted to finish up the last tracks. but i had plans with sophie, and didn't really want to cancel but the boys made me call her to tell her the news.

"i told you babe," i sighed, i'd already repeated it twice, what didn't she get? "we're staying in the studio to finish up two tracks and all done."

"ugh, and i cant even come say hi, ask john if i can," she asked.

to be honest, from the way she was acting, i didn't even want to hangout anymore, but i still asked. "he said yeah, but you and jade have to be quiet."

"wait, jade is going?"

"yeah, i mean i guess, i didn't know until now."

"oh whatever luke," my girlfriend huffed, "you so knew she was going."

"what?" i asked, laced with annoyance. "babe, what are you talking about?"

"don't babe me," she said. "i'll just see you tomorrow, tell the boys i said hi."

"and jade?" i asked, knowing that she's the reason sophie is being so pissy.

"ugh," and with that she hung up on me.

"you looked annoyed," a girly voice says. "was it sophie?"

"um, yeah, she's just being sophie i guess." i say rolling my eyes, "i didn't know you were coming by."

"yeah, calum and i are going to hangout tonight after y'all are done here," jade says, smiling at me.

"well that might not be till later," i say, feeling bad for the couple. "we have to record until late tonight, finishing up som-"

"oh i know, cal texted me while i was at my set. i feel bad for y'all," she adds, genuinely apologetic.

"nothing we're not use to," i say, laughing at the comment. "ima head to the kitchen, want anything?"

"no thanks," the girl says, opening the door once the red light goes off. "hey luke."

"yeah?"

"you deserve better than how sophie treats you, ya know?"

oh i know, i think as i turn from the only girl i've ever wanted.
