JEFF

It's an open secret.

I know that Bible has a crush on me.

Hard not to when he stares at me the way he does. He is always so flustered when I am close and he is so easy to read.

However, I don't know the extent of his crush for me. Whether it's one of those things that if you ignore long enough they'll just disappear or... maybe he hopes that something more will come up from it.

I intend to find out tonight.

Asking Apo to help plan a meeting between Bible and I proved easier than I'd thought. Bible seemed genuinely shocked to see me. Even more shocked at the fact that Apo had bailed on us but everything was working out just as we'd planned.

"Okay, let's go," I say pushing up from the bar stool.

"What?" Bible looks up at me with a look of confusion on his face. Usually he has this bad boy aura about him that works well on screen but looking at him now, he looks adorable in his semi-drunk phase.

"We are leaving," I say grabbing my wallet and taking out money to settle his bill . "Did you bring anything with you?"

"No... I mean, I didn't drive here but that's because Apo said-"

"Great, now lets go."

He hesitates in his seat, turning to the other guys but none of them even bother to look at us. He lets out a sigh before getting up too. I grab his arm and start walking to the exit, dragging him behind me.

"Where are we going?" he whines, which I find quite hilarious coming from him. "I wasn't even done with my drink."

"You shouldn't be drinking that much whiskey, it's not good for your health."

"It's okay if you have it once in a while. I just want to get drunk tonight, is that such a bad thing?"

I stop in my tracks and he bumps into me. I turn to face him with a puzzled look on my face. His hair is slicked back and his face is flushed. His jaw is sharp and pronounced. His eyes which are often intense, are a little grazed over but still dark and intense under the street lamp.

He is a really handsome guy. Handsome sounds mild. No, Bible is as hot as one can get and right now, he's drop dead gorgeous. Even I can tell that.

He is easily the hottest guy in our group but... maybe I'm just biased.

"Why do you want to get drunk tonight?" I ask, watching for his reaction.

"Well, I... I really wasn't lying when I said that I've been busy and this week has been the busiest in quiet a while. I just wanted to cool down a bit."

Makes sense

"Okay then," I say, feeling a little bad for taking his drink from him but I hope I can create a better distraction for him than the loud music and alcohol. "How about we go over to my place and play some music together."

His eyes widen at my words. "Your place?"

"Yeah, it's not far from here."

"But you never let anyone come over to your place."

He's right about that. While I do have many friends, I always meet them outside my home, Opting to keep some part of my life private.

"True," I say, dragging him along to where I've parked my car. "But it's the one place I can be myself without having to pretend and I am hoping that'll rub off on you."

He suddenly goes silent and doesn't say a word as when I open the door for him to climb in. He waits until I am behind the wheel to speak.

"Do you think I pretend... that I am not who I present myself to others?"

"Do you mean the bad boy attitude you display on-screen to match Vegas, your character, or the goofy likable personality you display for your friends to see?"

My question strikes him silent for a good couple of minutes as I drive down the highway. "Who do you think I am then?"

His voice is so low and I spy him biting into his lip. Such an unconscious move and yet... so damn hot.

"That's what I am hoping to find out tonight."

The rest of the drive is spent in silence that is neither awkward nor uncomfortable. I play music to fill up the silence and half an hour later, I am pulling into my driveway.

I bought my house two years ago when I turned 25 and it's one of the things I am proud of achieving. At first, I had been reluctant of making such a big decision and thought of getting a condo instead of buying a house but I figured I'd get more privacy with the latter.

"So this is where you hide huh?" Bible asks as he follows me behind. I don't respond to his question as I let us into the house.

"Make yourself comfortable, I'll get you some water to-"

Bible grabs my arm before I can leave, stopping me in my tracks. In the clear lighting, I can see he is more sober than I'd first assumed. His eyes are clear and dark as they stare into mine.

"Why are you set on getting me sober?"

"Wouldn't it be better if you were sober for when we play the musi-"

"Now who's pretending?" he rolls his eyes at me. "I thought this is the one place where you can be honest and don't need to pretend?"

"It is."

"Then why are you set on getting me to sober up? And don't mention music. I am not even in the mood to play anything right now."

Well, I hadn't expected him to be this bold but I did say that I wanted to understand his feelings and since he's suddenly all about truth...

"Alright then," I say, my eyes studying him. "Since you want me to be honest, why don't we start with your truth."

"What do you want to know?"

"If you like me."

His eyes widen in shock and Adam's apple bobs as he swallows frantically. Whatever response is going to come out of his mouth, I already know the answer.
