"On a scale of one to ten, how mad are you at me?" This is the first thing Apo says when I finally pick up his call.

I don't make it a habit to pick up calls when I am working but Apo won't just let it go. He's been blowing up my phone all afternoon.

"Take a guess."

"Alright, I'm sorry ná."

"I told you to keep it to yourself, Apo. Now look at what happened last night. Bible is worried that everyone..."

"Nothing is going to happen. Mile told everyone that the person Bible has a crush on was his sister. His friend War backed Mile up."

"I had no idea Mile has a sister," I say, tuning my guitar.

"I'm the only one who knows about it and she's married but no one needs to know that. What's important is that no one suspects you of dating Bible."

"Fine, fine," I say, already done with this particular topic. I love Apo to death but maybe involving him in my business was wrong in the first place. He rarely keeps anything from Mile and I can't have another slip up.

From now on, Bible and I will have to deal with our own shit without involving our friends.

"Am I forgiven now?"

"Sure Apo," I say, strumming the guitar, pleased at the result. "I can never stay mad at you, no one can."

"I'll buy you guys drinks tonight to show..."

"No, I think we'll skip tonight. Lets catch up some other time, okay?"

"Sure, just let me know when you guys want to hang out and I'll plan something."

We chat a little bit longer before hanging up.

I get back to work and lose myself in it. Only coming to when I notice it's dark outside. I look at my wrist watch and shocked to find it's half past seven.

I pick up my phone to check whether there are any missed calls or texts from Bible but there's nothing so I decide to call him myself. We didn't have plans made but part of me thought he'd come over tonight.

The phone rings but he doesn't pick it up. I shoot him a text but get nothing back and now I'm worried.

He's probably busy or something but...

What if Mile said something to him. Come to think of it, I haven't heard from Bible ever since he left to see Mile this morning so I dial his number instead.

"You never call. Should I be scared?" Mile says in way of greeting.

"Depends," I say heading up stairs. "What did you tell Bible?"

"Aaah, that," he says, his voice filled with humor. "Are you going to warn me off your boyfriend?"

"Again, it depends. What did you tell my boyfriend?"

Mile is silent for a moment before chuckling. "So you admit that you two are dating. Bible wasn't so forthcoming with the information."

I swear he's just as bad as Apo.

"Miles!"

"Okay, don't chew me out. I just told him that he would break many hearts if people learned that he was in a relationship."

I close my eyes and squeeze the bridge between my eyes. Mile and Apo are nosy bastards. Apo I can understand because that's his nature but I never knew this about Mile.

"Great, more problems for me to damage control. You and Apo need a muzzle."

I catch Mile's chuckle before hanging up.
