As Hogwarts castle comes into view, the Anglia enters the frame.
Ron: Welcome home, Athena.
Athena smiles at the sight of the castle when...the Anglia groans.
"Oh for fuck sake what's happening now" groaned Mia shocking many around her with her language.
Athena: Just out of interest, Ron. Have you ever landed a car before?
Ron: Well....no. But, until a few hours ago, I'd never taken off in one either [Athena looks at Ron incredulously]
Student facepalm at Rons statement. Molly glares at Ron then to Arthur who just whistles looking away.
With that, the car lurches, the front drops.
Ron: Uh oh
Athena: We are going to die
Athena, Ron and the car go pitching through the night. As Ron rakes the gears, they hurtle madly towards one of the castle walls.
Ron: ITS NOT WORKING!
Athena: UP! UP!
Ron shifts gear desperately, the Anglia lurches up, barely missing the castle wall. Athena and Ron exchange a look of relief...the car groans again lurching downwards.
"Give us a break" Ted said exhausted.
Athena: MIND THE TREE! [down below a giant willow tree looms. Ron shifts gears. Nothing happens] TURN! TURN!
Athena reaches over and together, she and Ron spin the wheel. It's useless, the car plummets towards the tree. Desperately, Ron whips out his wand and whacks the dash board.
Ron: STOP! STOP! STOP!
The wand snaps into two and - crunch - car meets tree. Athena blinks. The car hangs dreamily, balanced on the highest limb.
Ron: My wand! Look at my wand!
"Be thankful that is wasn't your neck" James said sarcastically. "No isn't the time James" Mia scolded James.
Athena: Be thankful it wasn't your neck
James smiled at his daughter then looked at his mum pointing at the screen, he raised his eyebrows and said "are you not going to scold her too, now isn't the time remember" Mia gave James a warning look but he didn't back down, he just smiled cheekily at her.
THWUNMP! Something heaving hits Athena's door, sending a shudder through the car.
Fred pulls Athena close.
Ron: What's happening?!
Slowly, they look up and in disbelief, watch one of the tree branches pull back, curl into itself and come lashing forward like a massive fist. THUMP!
Those people who know this tree all share a horrified look, knowing this tree is incredibly dangerous. Remus puts one hand on his head, feeling guilty, since that tree was only placed there for him, 'If one of the kids get hurt by the tree it's all my fault' he thought. Sirius, knew what Remus was thinking and placed his hand over the Remus' unoccupied one, Remus turned to look at the boy with a red face, Sirius winked.
Ron/Athena: aaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!
The Anglia tilts crazily, slides backwards and free falls through the air and lands on the lower grid of branches.
Ron: What tree is this?
"Not a friendly one" Remus sighs, Sirius squeezes Remus' hand tighter.
Before Athena can respond, the tree begins to pummel the car from all sides, tossing Athena and Ron about like popcorn. Windows shatter and heavy dents appear on the roof above Ron and Athena's heads. Then the car falls slamming heavily on the ground. Instantly, the tree's lower branches shoot through the front and rear windscreens and gaining purchase, began to shake the car back and forth.
"This tree has anger management issues" "this tree is barking mad.... Did you get the joke?" "Yes Monty I got the dad joke it just wasn't funny" Monty pouted at Mia whilst many students in earshot laughed at Monty.
Athena/Ron: Aaaaahhhhhh!
The tree pitches the car into the air. As the Anglia slams down again, bobbing on, its squealing shocks the engine, burbling back to life Athena looks up peering through the shattered windscreen. The Willis branches rear back, ready for one last punishing blow.
Athena: Reverse! Reverse!
Ron shifts gears, the car shoots backwards and the willow pummels the tread marked ground they just left from. All of the sudden the doors fly open, the seats tip sideways, Ron and Athena are ejected from the car. As they hit the ground, their trunks fly from the boot, Hedwigs cage rockets out the back window. Hedwig completely ignores Athena and flaps herself into the night. Tail lights blazing angrily, the battered car speeds off, straight towards the dark forest.
Ron: [exhausted] Dads going to kill me
Athena: No I think your mum will get to you first and if your dad wanted to kill you he'd have to dig your body up, resurrect you and then kill you.
The Prewetts and Weasleys all nod in agreement with on-screen Athena.
Ron: [turning to look at Athena] could you not, I don't even want to think about how angry my mother would be right now
Athena: Sorry
Ron: You ain't though
Athena: Yeah I know
They hear a tremendous groan, turning back around, they see the Whomping Willow assume it's natural form, waiting for its next victim.
Molly and Lily sighed in relief now that their children are safe.
