Chapter 8: The Four Champions

The camera pans to a corridor, Fred and Athena are shown turning the corner, walking hand in hand. Fred keeps glancing at Athena, who's incredibly quiet. He pulls her to a stop.

Fred: Athena...do you want to talk about it?
Athena: [Looking up at him] I don't even know how to explain how I'm feeling...[Fred waits for her to continue] seeing Neville like that was heartbreaking. I understand we would need to learn about the curses at some point but we shouldn't have leaned like that. Freddie, you should've seen Neville's face! I wanted to punch Moody for hurting my brother like that. He should've stopped...but he didn't..

"Always worrying about others instead of yourself" Neville joked "how can I worry about myself when my brother was hurting?" Athena questioned, raising her eyebrows. Alice, Lily, Frank and James smiled at Athena calling Neville her brother. "As much as I appreciate it dear sister of mine but you still need to worry about yourself" Neville gave her a pointed look "potato patato" Athena smiled cheekily.

Fred: I know and I still can't believe you all had to witness that, but how are you feeling after...what happened...to you..
Athena: I shouldn't be here Fred.. I shouldn't be alive
Fred: [Completely shocked] Don't say that Athena.
Athena: But it's true, Freddie.. that spell should've killed me [tears start forming] it's hard being able to walk around and live my life knowing my parents never fully got to live theirs. When I saw that spider just drop dead...within a second..it just made me think..that's how my parents died..that quickly. A part of me is happy that their death was quick and they weren't in pain but a part of me is sad because I survived when I shouldn't have.

Everyone had tears in their eyes, fully listening to what Athena was saying. "Survivors guilt" Marlene said, making Athena nod. "Oh Athena" Lily wrapped her little girl into a tight hug, James and his parents soon joining.

Fred: Athena, you have survivors guilt. I may not know or understand fully on how you're feeling but I know for a fact your parents wouldn't want you to be upset. They would want you to live your life to the fullest. Yes you should've...died...but I am glad you didn't. Otherwise I wouldn't have met the most beautiful, kind, mischievous [Athena smiled and laughed with tear rolling down her cheeks] protective, let's not forget bad tempered girl ever! You truly are amazing my love! You amaze me everyday with your witty comebacks or remarks, you fabulous ideas for pranks and everyday you get even more beautiful [He takes ahold of Athena's chin and pulls her into a kiss, they pull apart] now don't cry and lift your head up princess, don't let Moody see he got to you, let's go show them fuckers who's really boss!

The two carry on walking as the camera fades to black.

Everyone all smiles at Fred and Athena's connection "Athena I'm stealing your man" Theo comments, nodding his head. "I'd like to see you try" Athena glares. Theo suddenly jumps up and runs to Fred and jumps on top of him, Athena gets up and drags Theo off of Fred. Everyone laughs at the two, who have started wrestling on the floor. "10 galleons Athena beats Theo's ass" Regulus says to Sirius "you're on! I have faith in Theo". Finally Athena stands victorious whilst Theo lays flat on the ground "I'm alive but I'm dead" he says making Blaise roll his eyes. Sirius grumbles whilst handing his brother 10 galleons.

We start night over the courtyard, where a bitter wind sweeps crystalline sheets of rain from the roof. Far below, Cedric Diggory comes into view, dashes toward the great hall. The goblet flickers eerily at the top of the hall. A group of underclassmen –– Athena and Ron amount them –– stand by as their older classmates submit their names. Hermione clutches a copy of Triwizard Tradegies!

Hermione: People have gotten splinched in this Tournament! More than once!
Dean Thomas: Splinched!
Blaise: Dunno. But it doesn't sound good.
Theo: [Sarcastically] Oh really? I couldn't tell! Thank you so much for enlightening us with your wisdom, oh great one [Mockingly bows, everyone laughs at the two]
