I was so nervous but I still looked at Cairo. His eyes looked so shocked as he stared at Reagan. Nandoon lang ang tingin niya, sobrang gulat.
"You're kidding me?" He whispered.
When his eyes went to me, I looked down and hugged my son tighter, getting strength because I feel so nervous. I think it's the end of me!
Hindi ako umimik, si Cairo ay hindi rin nakaimik. Naestatwa siya!
Si Mommy ang sumira sa katahimikan.
"Why don't you ask your son why he's here, Maeve?"
Tinakpan ko ang tenga ni Reagan bago ito nilingon ng sobrang sama. How dare she do this?! This is my last straw, I'm really not her daughter anymore!
"Shut up, Mrs. Villacorta!"
"Rude," she smirked.
I was so annoyed I stood up. May plano sana akong saktan si Mommy pero napigilan ng anak.
"Mama, where Papa? Work!" Reagan smiled.
My tears formed when I again looked at Cairo. He was so stunned but his eyes were bloodshot. Nanatili ang tingin niya kay Reagan.
Napasinghap ako bago binuhat ang anak at pumasok muli sa loob. I brought him to my office. Inilapag ko muna siya bago bumalik sa pinto para sana ilock yun but it was too late! It already opened and revealed Mommy.
"How dare you?!" Agad kong sabi ng makita ito.
"Stop it, Maeve. Your son's watching." Seryoso nitong sabi, nilingon pa ang anak ko.
Napasinghap ako bago nagpunas ng luha at nilingon si Reagan na mukhang naguguluhan.
Shit.
"Where's Yaya?" I bent and asked him.
"Car," he pouted.
He even held my cheeks and wiped the tears that fell. I cried harder.
"You... You go out first, okay? Adult talk, huh? But don't go far, okay?" Pagpapaintindi ko.
He nodded, "Don't thry, Mama."
I bit my lips and nodded, smiling at him.
"Okay, Mama will stop crying na. Go out muna, okay?"
He nodded.
Napasinghap ako bago sinamahan ito palabas. I was shocked to see no one outside my office. They all left! Binuksan ko ang pinto sa labas bago hinarap si Reagan.
Nagulat ako ng makita si Cairo doon sa gilid, nakatakip mukha gamit ang mga palad. Nasa tabi niya si Rishi at San. Nilingon ako ng dalawa.
I bit my lips, "Pabantay..."
Natulala sila kay Reagan, si Cairo ay nakuha ko ang atensyon pero hindi ko ito pinansin.
"Don't go anywhere, okay?" I told Reagan.
"Otay, Mama,"
I smiled at him.
Pumasok na ako agad bago pa maulan ng tanong ng tatlo. Pagkapasok sa office ay nakita ko si Mommy na nakaupo sa swivel chair ko, sinamaan ko ito ng tingin.
"How dare you, Mommy? Bakit ka nakikialam?!" Galit kong sabi.
"I told you, I'll start making an action if yo—"
"What the fuck are you on?!" Sigaw ko.
Mukhang nagulat naman siya dahil sa lakas non but she immediately composed herself. She also stood up and faced me, tinuro pa nito ang mukha ko.
