The clear sky darkened by the grey clouds. There was a light grey tint surfacing the atmosphere as people began to run for shelter. A thunderstorm was approaching, and it was approaching fast.
"Are you sure it's alright to go back?" A black haired male asked, concern for the slightly younger male.
"Yeah, maybe one of us can go for you." A red eyed male commented, putting his hands on the shorter males shoulder. "It's not safe."
He shrugged his hands off, rolling his eyes at their looks. He didn't need them, he didn't need their pity. For fucks sake he was stronger than both of them combined, why in the hell are they worried?
"Leave it to me." He responded with nothing in his voice. A lit cigarette hanging loosely from his mouth. He took it out of his mouth, releasing the smoke in his lungs. He sighed, rubbing his eyes with the leather gloves he was wearing, as he hadn't had sleep in awhile, "It's been almost a month, the talk about me should've died down. Besides, the thunderstorm will hide my sounds -if any are made."
He turned and began to walk away from the two. The cigarette going back in his mouth. They both followed after the male holding himself high. His chin lifted slightly as his hands were behind his back.
A female came dashing out of the lab, her smile bright and happy. The short male relaxed a bit, he hadn't seen her smile like that in ages. He was relieved she found herself in a sense of comfort under his watch, and that she was making friends. She waved to the male, bowing as she scurried off to find one of her companions to share what she had just made.
The male turned his head a bit, looking at the blue eyed male first before turning to the red eyed male first.
"Besides, I left important valuables there, I need it. You two idiots don't know what they are, why would I trust you guys to go there than myself?"
They were quiet.
"Sorry, boss."
He smirked a bit, the word boss rolled of their tongues easily. The word boss was meant to describe him. He chucked a bit, liking the word.
He wasn't a leader, he was never going to be a leader.
He may be nice to the staff at the places under the deadly mafia's watch, and to the others who work directly under him for their dirty work, but that doesn't mean he was a leader.
He liked to be in control, he liked to be the one to force things into motion. Once he has a plan, it sticks, if anything changes he gets rid of the change and then tweaks his plan into a better one. He hated when things didn't go to plan.
He wasn't a leader, but he was a boss.
And the plan he has is still in motion, there was only one bump in the road, and that was him being shot. He truly did not expect that, but it didn't really change the outcome of his plan. This plan would take years to perfect and finish, and he had just the patience for it.
He smirked.
He wasn't a leader, but he was a boss.
He walked into his room, his feet stepping onto a rug before stepping off. The two still followed him, trying to talk him out of his horrible idea on going by himself. It was dangerous, but he could handle it.
He didn't know why they felt the need to baby him, sure they were slightly older, but they were weaker. He didn't need them to babysit him.
He grabbed an overnight bag, it was empty as he slung it over his shoulder. Properly putting out his cigarette in the ash tray in his room. He pivoted on his feet, turning to face the two, his eyes narrowed into a glare. They immediately shut up, their breathing stopped for a bit.
