It was early morning. The sun was just above the horizon, only person who would still be asleep would be (M/N). But he was already in the building.
He was above everyone, he peeked through the lines of the air vent. Watching as Kita knocked on his door, after just a few moments he saw Suna groggily open the door, rubbing his eyes. Clutching onto his side.
"Morning Suna. I presume (M/N) has already left?"
He nodded, "Yes, along time ago."
"Well, Aran wants us all together. He has something he wants to show us, you're the only one not there."
(M/N)'s eyes squinted as Suna followed Kita. He wastes no time, huh? (M/N) wanted to laugh, but he couldn't.
He was crouched on his stomach as he began to quietly army crawl through the thin metal. He could've easily been heard if he were anyone else. His eyes watched their every move, every few feet a new air vent would show and it would give him more of a chance to keep up.
Then they turned into a room. The meeting room.
(M/N) pulled the bag over his head, clenching his teeth as it got stuck in between his back and the vent. He swiftly yanked it, stopping himself before his bag flew out of his hand. He slowly put it down and opened it, using the flashlight on his phone and putting it in the bag. He moved his things around, finally finding a screwdriver.
He took out two of the bolts, putting them in his pocket so he wouldn't lose them. He pushed it open, catching it before it made a noise, he put his hand on the vent, tying a rope to the top of the vent before jumping down. His feet made no noise, he stuck to the wall.
"None of you believed me!" Aran laughed, almost hysterically from everything, "But I have proof!" He held a flash drive, "This is proof!"
Kita raised a brow, "Then enlighten us, show the proof of (M/N)."
Suna's eyes widened. "What? He didn't say anything of (M/N)."
(M/N) closed his eyes and leaned his head on the wall. You won't be defending me for long.
"C'mon Suna!" An annoying giggle rung out, "Just watch the video!"
"Mika?!"
(M/N) opened his eyes and turned his head. Scooting closer to the door as he peeked inside. Everyone's head turned the opposite way, watching as Aran put the flash drive in the computer. Connecting it to the overhead screen in the room, making sure everyone saw.
The mouse hovered over the play button, he clicked the right side of the mouse. And the video began to play.
A pair of hands shoved (M/N) on a stage. He stumbled a bit as he looked outward. Glaring at the camera.
"Look! Another participant!"
"No, no, no... I don't sing." (M/N) put his hands up and shook them side to side. An innocent expression on his face.
"Come on! Everybody sings!" The announcer put his arm around (M/N)'s shoulder. Slurring a bit at his words as they overlapped.
(M/N)'s eyes slowly trailed to the arm around his shoulder, then to the face it belonged to. He licked the inside of his cheek. His words heard through the karaoke bar.
"Take your arm off of me, or you won't have an arm in two seconds."
He quickly pulled away. Chuckling to himself nervously as he stuck that hand in his pocket. He took a sip of his whiskey.
"Well, might as well sing, you know? You are on stage, give a show!" His hand got out his pocket as he held them up. Whiskey falling out of his cup, "Right?!"
"It's just (M/N) at a karaoke bar... why's that important?" Suna cocked an eyebrow, "It's kind of boring."
Aran paused the video.
Sweet, sweet, sweet Suna. (M/N) thought, a frown forming over his face, No matter how much of denial you're in... the truth always comes out and sooner or later, you'll have to believe it.
"That's what I thought at first, along with Mika." Aran nodded his head, "Luckily we kept watching. This shows just how powerful and smart (M/N) truly is. So please," He glared a bit at Suna, "No more interruptions." He played the video.
Cheers were heard. They all wanted to hear another song. (M/N) only looked out into the crowd. He looked at where the camera was, licking his lips before making eye contact with Jay.
"Do I really have to sing? Like I said before, my friend shoved me on stage." He crossed his arms, giving off that he had stage fright.
"I say your friend did you justice!" (M/N)'s eyebrow twitched in annoyance and it took everything in him to not kill the drunk male next to him, "Seems to me like you have stage fright," He got up and close to (M/N)'s face.
In such a subtle movement, his hand went to grab the dagger from the back loop of his pants. Being covered by the long overcoat he was wearing. But he stopped himself, taking a deep breath. He acted like he scratched his back to play it off, seeming that he was just nervous.
He was not the target, and if (M/N)'s temper gets in the way, it'll blow their cover.
Jay let a sigh of relief, "Thank god..." He muttered.
"Huh? Captain what's going on with the boss?"
Jay turned his head to look at a blonde male with brown eyes and freckles, "Well, Mikoton, when the boss gets mad he tends to become a bit weaker and vulnerable. The drunk announcer is testing (M/N)'s patience and if he doesn't start with the distraction soon, he'll most likely kill him."
Mikoton blinked and looked at his twin sister, Myria, then back to Jay.
"But we like it when he's angry, right?"
Jay looked at (M/N) who's eyes had not wavered from their intent to kill. A simple nod was what he gave them.
"Yes, that may be true. He is still as deadly as ever, even when angry. But..." He trailed off, "He still needs to control it."
(M/N) turned his head, looking at the crowd. He licked his lips, his thumb quickly wiping over his bottom lip before a smirk tugged to show.
"What's the boss doing?" Myria asked, her brown eyes looking at Jay, blankly.
"Stalling." Jay said, "Not too sure why though." He shrugged.
Mikoton looked at him, "It's obvious." He said, "The boss is just toying with everyone. And the longer the target is here, the easier it'll be for us to get them because they'll be tired soon from all the alcohol."
"How did you know that?" Myria asked.
"Oh, he told me. C'mon, you know how he is. He rather play with his food first before eating." Mikoton's eyes sparkled, "It's more fun that way, ya' dig?"
Jay slammed his drink down, "That bastard really does plan everything out. He's always 200 steps ahead of everyone and everything." He shook his head, "He picks out the many outcomes of the plans he creates. Hopefully though, everything goes according to his wishes or he'll be pissed."
"And it can affect the rest of us or he'll go on a killing rampage to get his angry out of his system." Myria finished.
Jay laughed, "Bingo. Hopefully the latter. We don't want his angry to affect us."
"So... you want me to sing? Like a song?" (M/N) was now sitting on the floor.
"Yes sir! That's the plan!" He hiccuped before taking a swig of his whiskey, "Damn, I'm out of it."
(M/N) blinked, his face blank. He shrugged his shoulders, rolling back as he used his hands to propel himself back upwards on his feet. He landed gracefully as his overcoat followed shortly. He grabbed the microphone. The camera picking up a blurry shape at the back of his coat, but it wasn't clear.
"Alright, alright. You've convinced me, I'll sing." He smirked.
