(M/N) kept his eyes on the sky, watching as the sun slowly started peeking through the white clouds. No warmth huddled over him as the snowy weather outweighed the shine of the sun.

There was a glow to his features, (M/N) licked his lips and smirked. He wasn't bothered by the cold, he's physically been through worse and sent into snow without any protective gear. He looked at the tent, smirk growing wider.

He began walking towards the tent, pulling it open and a weird twinkle glinted in his (E/C) eyes. It's been so long since he's felt such sadistic glee in someone's pain. He usually just brushes it off and went back to killing, now he can feel the joy in it once more.

No one would slow him down.

He walked further in the small tent, seeing Alizer shivering under three blankets. He would've looked frozen -especially with his icy hair sticking to his face- if not for the shivering and grunts of cold pain.

He stepped on Alizer's cheek, his boot pushing down until a pained whined left Alizer's lips. The tied up male rolled away, hitting the tent and glaring up at (M/N). A slight blue tent to his lips and deep eye bags took away from his natural skin tone. Especially since there was gray tints as well.

"You looked so peaceful, I just had to wake you up." (M/N) said, almost a teasing tone in his voice, but he sounded serious.

"You know I wasn't peaceful!" Alizer snarled.

"Could've fooled me, but I'll be gracious." (M/N) gave a tight lipped smile.

Before Alizer could respond, (M/N) shrugged off the bulky coat made for winter. He threw it at Alizer, hitting the older man in the face with it. It dropped to the ground, but Alizer scrambled and jumped on it, guarding it like it was the most precious thing in the world. In this case, it was.

"Put that on, we'll leave in a few minutes." (M/N) said, "Whether you're warm or not. I'm being nice so you can live just a bit longer, don't take it for granted."

With that, (M/N) left the tent, packing away the food and water. Alizer didn't need it, he got a coat, (M/N) will only offer so much to the man.

Alizer finally emerged from the tent, but he looked deep in thought. (M/N) raised a brow and tilted his head, studying the male.

Alizer was able to get the coat on, it still looked rather uncomfortable due to the rope around him, but it did its job. It was keeping him somewhat warm, much better than before when (M/N) was basically laughing at him.

There was already a rope burn around his neck, digging into his wrist and leaving many spots red and raw. People's discomfort, their pain, their blood, their strangled cries, everything was just beautiful to (M/N). Seeing Alizer down and weak, (M/N) could coo from that.

"You're a sick man." Alizer spoke, glaring at (M/N).

(M/N) raised a brow, looking him over. It seemed Alizer knew what (M/N) was thinking. He was always good at that, reading (M/N) like a book, only because (M/N) allowed him to. To see his eyes, the shine of when something so sickening was so thrilling.

"You were always good at reading me." (M/N) chuckled.

As if it were so easy to speak to Alizer, like they were actually father and son. Both knew, this was only to throw the other off. To get the high ground and see who exactly was better at wit, strength, taunts, anything and everything.

"Clearly not." Alizer rolled his eyes, seeing (M/N) easily put away the tent. His eyes trained on the strongest man alive. "I should've known you had something up your sleeve."

Yet, you didn't. "I never had anything up my sleeve." (M/N) responded, yanking Alizer's rope to follow. "I just did what I needed to survive and get ahead. If it meant following your sorry ass, then so be it."

"And you'll always be following me." Alizer seethed.

He wasn't going to allow (M/N) to get ahead and stay ahead. He wasn't going to let (M/N) be the new boss, the new empire. Alizer was better, he was always better. (M/N) meant nothing, if he could kill him or get him off his tail, he'll rein top. Just as it should be.

"I don't think so." (M/N) said.

Alizer gritted his teeth, who did (M/N) think he was? He should be following Alizer, should grovel at his feet. Beg for his life, cry for his life, just as usual. (M/N) needed to be the perfect pet, the one Alizer could hurt and still have the pet would come back.

How did it take him this long to realize he was the one being played? That he was the one following (M/N)? That got on his nerves, that made something twist in Alizer, a new found anger rose in his heart and chest.

He looked at the back of (M/N)'s head, then lowered his gaze down. His teeth gritted more at that. (M/N)'s hand was gently grasping the rope, as if he were betting on Alizer on not running. That he was too weak to do so, and it irked Alizer.

Alizer shivered from the cold wind, but made a move. He spun and kicked (M/N)'s back, the hold on his rope slipped and Alizer used that to his advantage. He stumbled up and ran the opposite way, seeing the trees and snow. That could cover him.

(M/N) slipped a cigarette between his lips and flicked his lighter. He looked at the way Alizer just ran off to and he smirked. He knew Alizer would make a move at some point.

Alizer needed to feel warmth, should feel like (M/N)'s guard was down. The slight grasp to his rope, his back to Alizer, the coat, the food from yesterday, all made it easier for Alizer to think he slipped. It was just simple things to get the boredom out of his system, Alizer not fighting would be so boring and easy.

(M/N) liked the chase. He liked to run after people and put them back in their place. Alizer just needed a simple reminder that he was nothing, not even worthy dirt beneath (M/N)'s feet.

(M/N) took another puff of his cigarette, letting the smoke fill his lungs. It was such a warm feeling in his lungs, made it bearable against the cold. He flicked the cigarette out, his smirk turning into an open mouth grin.

He titled his head up to the skin, lips parting widely as he laughed. He continued to laugh, it growing louder by the second, eyes wide and pleasure beamed.

Alizer could hear it, he shivered and continued to run. He almost stumbled, but didn't, he had to get as far away as possible. He needed to get (M/N) off his tracks, even if he was the best tracker in the world.

"Run as far as you want, Alizer," (M/N)'s words were a whisper, yet somehow Alizer heard them. "I'll always find you." With that (M/N) slowly took off.
