"Sun is coming up, oh why, oh why, oh why, oh why?"

The urge to slap a man has never been stronger than it is now.

I'm perched on the couch in Sheriff Stilinski's office next to Stiles as we sit next to Scott, Kira, and Lydia in the Sheriff's Station. According to Stiles, Barrow tried to electrocute Kira, but she ended up actually absorbing the electricity, and was completely fine after the fact. After the police came to the substation and found us all there, they brought us back to the station to question us about why we were there and what we were doing. Sheriff Stilinski is present in the room for our questioning, so at least we have one adult on our side.

And the man I want to slap right now? James, my dickhead father, though Rafael – which I've learned is Scott's asshat father's name – is currently working his way up to the top spot, too.

Ooh, maybe they could share it.

"So, when did you get there?" James asks Stiles and me.

"At the same time," I answer.

"At the same time as who?" Rafael asks.

"At the same time as me," Scott tells him.

"By coincidence?" James questions, raising his eyebrows.

"What do you mean, by coincidence?" Stiles asks in reply.

"That's what we're asking you," Rafael says. "The three of you arrived at the same time; was that a coincidence?"

Scott glances at his father. "Are you asking me?"

"I think he's asking me," Stiles says.

"I think he's asking the both of you," Lydia pipes up.

James lets out a frustrated sigh. "Okay, let me answer the questions." At his mistake, I bite the inside of my cheek harshly to keep from laughing, and it seems that everyone is doing the same around me. He clears his throat, correcting himself, "Let me ask the questions." Stiles lifts his hand, making a finger gun and winking at James for saying it correctly. James rolls his eyes, both he and Rafael flipping through their notepads. "Just so we have this absolutely clear; Barrow was hiding in the chemistry closet at the school. Someone left him a coded message on the blackboard telling him to kill Kira. Then, Barrow took Kira to a power substation and tied her up with the intent of electrocuting her, which blacked out the whole town."

"Sounds about right," Stiles says.

"How did you know he'd take her to a power station?" Rafael asks.

I share a glance with Stiles. What the hell are we supposed to say? "Ainsley can kind of sense when someone's close to death – so can Lydia, but she wasn't there – and Ainsley let out a scream and it sort of told her where to go?"
