"Meet me in the afterglow." ---
After Parrish's heroic entrance into the file room, Lydia came rushing in not too far behind. She had apparently gotten a strange feeling that something was going wrong, that we might have needed help, and she managed to get Parrish to help her out.
So, yeah, Lydia just saved our asses, thanks cous.
Lydia, while Brunski was in the file room with Stiles, Parrish, and me, also managed to snag a particular tape from Brunski's collection, this one titled LORRAINE MARTIN. Knowing what was on Marjorie's tape, I know that this tape is most likely Brunski actually killing Lorraine.
As for Liam, Scott, and Malia—while Brunski was holding Stiles and me hostage, they were at a bonfire at the school to celebrate the start of the lacrosse season.
And, well, let's just say there were some assassins there that tried to kill them.
They used the music to send some sort of soundwave that weakened them and only they could hear. Liam's friend, Mason, managed to stop the music and save them. Kira also managed to save members of Satomi's pack—Brett and his sister Lori. They've been hiding out at Argent Arms International, but soon, there's going to be no place to hide.
The assassins are everywhere—some aren't even professional anymore.
My head pounds from all that's happened in the last few hours, but I've never been more worried about Liam in my life. I wasn't there to protect him, he could have been hurt—he could have been killed.
I wasn't there to protect him.
After hearing my name, along with Stiles', around the emergency room, David comes up to my hospital room while I get checked out. I know I'm fine, but I guess this is just precaution. I'm slipping my arms through my leather jacket when my phone starts to ring. He picks it up from where it's lying on the hospital bed and reads the caller ID. "Lydia," he tells me.
I answer the call, sending my step-dad a small smile of gratitude, and press it to my ear. "Any luck?" I ask Lydia, as she had gone back to the station with Parrish and Meredith, who is now under arrest and a suspect in this dead pool.
"Stilinski said there were words, not actual sentences," she sighs. A moment passes. "You're on speaker now with us."
"So nothing." I run my hand over my face. "I think you might need a psychologist. Is she considered competent enough to be charged with something?"
"Well, if Meredith is the Benefactor, then that means she was competent enough to trick Kate into opening the Hale vault; competent enough to blackmail Brunski into helping her; and competent enough to create a hit-list and pay out money for its completion," Lydia explains. "She's practically a criminal mastermind."
