"All your closets of backlogged dreams and how you left them all to me." ---
Lydia had found a lot of information out at the lake house.
It turns out that Marjorie wasn't the only banshee we didn't know about, nor was she the only to write a code before she died, and for what, we're still not sure. Lydia revealed to me that her grandmother, Lorraine, was also a banshee, and she found the last thing that she had written before she died. It was the same code that I had found in Marjorie's journal—the one that looked startlingly similar to the code Lydia and I had unconsciously written. Not only that, but Lydia had found a picture of Meredith Walker at the lake house, where she was in the white soundproof room with the record player. After our lengthy conversation, I'd gone back down to the basement and read through as many journals as I could find, hoping to find out more information.
So now Lydia and I know that we're related—second cousins or something like it, since our fathers are first cousins. Lydia seems to think that our grandmothers might actually still be alive and faked their deaths since the ern with Lorraine's ashes at the lake house was actually filled with mountain ash.
And I can't seem to remember anything about Marjorie's funeral or burial, leading me to question if there ever was one.
She seems to also think that our grandmothers might be helping the Benefactor.
That's how we end up with Noah at the station the following night, after I've just spent the better part of three hours dancing nonstop at Royal Dance Studio, explaining what we've learned and what might have happened because of it. Halfway through, Noah finds the story somewhat ridiculous and starts to make his way to his office.
"It's not just that they could still be alive," I say as Stiles pushes open the door to his dad's office as I follow in behind him with Lydia and Noah behind me.
"It's that they would've had to fake their deaths," Lydia continues.
Noah looks at Lydia and me, questions in his eyes as he states, "Your grandmothers, Lorraine Martin and Marjorie Dunbar, faked their deaths?"
"Definitely," Stiles answers for us.
"Maybe," Lydia and I say simultaneously after a moment.
"More than likely, yes," Stiles echoes.
I turn to him slightly, giving him a look that says please shut up.
This already sounds completely crazy, I'm not sure if I want to be right or not.
"Oh, I'm guessing you got stories to back this up?" Noah questions, still sounding disbelieving at what Lydia and I are telling him.
"Our grandmothers might be helping the Benefactor," Lydia tells him.
