Break the ice (Mighty ducks x reader)

20. Negative vibes

Annoyed with all this happened, I left the Headquarters and towards the ice rink. I needed to let off some steam. With a hockey stick, I shot every puck into the goal with such force; I could have sworn it was catching fire.

"You really are angry are you N/A?"

Knowing who that was, I refused to face him and kept hitting the pucks, "At least someone notice." Grin didn't say anything before, but he watched me the whole time. According to him, I had a very negative aura that was able to make the atmosphere go cold. I just clicked my tongue, "Well sorry if I didn't have enough positive vibes to warm up the migrator." Grin looked sad at me, as I got more aggressive by the minute. I wasn't aware that he confronted Wild wing before he came up to the ice rink. Even Mallory notice it and demanded an explanation. Of course, Nosedive's little teasing moments were a hint to the whole thing. The goalie had to open up to his team, "Okay guys. I this true, she has feeling for me, she confessed as we were at her parents place. But I can tell you this; I am not in love with her. We are just friends and nothing more." Duke didn't see the problem in it all, as he heard his Captain tell the truth, "Come on Wild wing, everyone can tell that you feel more than you let on. What are you afraid of?"

The goalie didn't answer.

Grin placed his hand onto Wing's shoulder, "You have to let go of that past, otherwise you never find true happiness."

"I can't Grin. As long as we don't find Canard, I cannot lose another one I deeply care for."

Mallory crossed her arms on front of her chest, "Did you tell her that?"

"She knows."

"I mean, did you tell her the real reason? Or did you just pretend that you don't like her that way?" Wild wing didn't expect his team to know him that well, shaking his head at this. The group sighted. Duke advised him not to give up on his feelings and tell me later on. Nosedive pouted, "And I thought she will become my angel." Mallory laughed, "Sorry, but she isn't into drooling puppies that runs after anything with curves."

"I do not!"

"One word: Vonda." The minute she said her name, Nosedive began to talk nonsense again. It didn't take long till Duke joined in. Mallory sighted, "I rest my case."

The female duck decided to leave it be for the day, resting in her bunk. Wild wing wanted to talk to me right away, but Grin advised him to give me some extra time alone, "Give her time to loosen her dark aura, otherwise she will poison you with it." Not sure what he meant, he assumed that I might be really mean again, like I was at my parents home. "Okay grin, but could you do me the favor and check on her? I don't like it if she is all alone for too long."

"That I can do"

And that is how he was standing in the front row now. In half an hour, all the pucks in the basket were inside the goal or nearby. Grin was please dot see me smile a little, "Feeling better?"

"A little, care to go out for a burger?"

The grumble from the tall duck was the right answer. I laughed, "I take this as a yes." Not too far off, Nosedive came over, "My Angel, you look hot as ever!" "Because I had a work out Dive, fancy a burger?" The young duck was staring disbelieve, "Is it a date?"

"Of course Dive..." I grabbed Grins arms smirking, "...at least for me and Grin."

"Awww"

Messing with the ducks became one of my favorite things to do and of course, they know I wasn't serious. My heart belongs to only on duck and he doesn't appreciate it. In my mind I felt bad, I might be cursed after all, always picking the wrong decision...even in the matters of the heart.

Vonda found out about Wild wing's feelings, telling the news to Dragaunus straight away.

Although he didn't look interested to hear that, Chameleon took this rather well. He was disguised as one of the guards in the stadium that day, but as he sneaked off towards the Headquarters, he never expected a human girl to cause so much trouble. During that time, he made it his personal mission to keep an eye on me, only to use it to be praised by Dragaunus for his effort. As expected, Dragaunus forgot about me right after, getting straight to his point, "Where is the chip?"

"The ducks got it. Just be patient a little while longer."

To change her voice, she used one of the saurian's device and turned it to Tanya's voice. Just to keep the Ducks away from the main room, she stole the chip and sends it straight to the Saurian Overlord. It didn't take long till everyone noticed that something wasn't right.

But it was already too late.

The chip was stolen. Vonda stayed in the room, deliberately, so she gets caught by the ducks. I also was there with Grin, seeing Mallory get furious at the betrayal. Vonda looked sad at Wild wing, telling everyone why she did that, begging them to help her. I almost had sympathy with her, until she grabbed onto the goalie's shoulders. My mind was going through the phase on how many ways I could kill her. Thankfully, Grin had a skill to calm me down quickly, by just grabbing my shoulder tenderly. But what really decreased my anger was that Wing himself took her hands off him, giving her his word that they will stop Dragaunus at all cost.
