31. Old friend returns

Buzz sadness was gone in seconds, rushing back to the control pad. I could feel the breeze of the wind, as the portal had widened its entrance. The larger it got the stronger the wind has blown towards us, "Buzz is that the same one from before?"

"They are; who you think is in need for help? Is it even human?"

It didn't matter to me, someone needs help and we decided to give it to whoever it is on the other side of the dimension. The walkie-talkies didn't respond to us either. I didn't understand; that person must have been near that opening right now, so why is it taking so long?

"Hey, hands up humans!"

We may not survive this to know, being surrounded by the Saurians. Chameleon took his chance to inform Dragaunus about this unexpected visit. Wraith and Siege held us hostage in the meantime. Buzz, as clever as he was, blocked the system of the portal, making it harder to shut it down. This might take a while for them to figure it out. Even so, we had to escape them somehow, getting ready to fight for it. Wraith, who didn't seem to be in the mood to fight, tied up Buzz and held him by the shoulders. Siege on the other hand, was ready to give me a right hook, feeling energetic enough to beat me up. Remembering on how many times humans got in the way of their missions, he wanted to take it all out on me. I rose up a broom, the only thing that was in reach and held it towards him, "Get back, I am not afraid to use it!"

"When I am done with you, you can wipe your blood off the floor with it."

Being taller and stronger than me, I felt unsure if I survive this. He blocked the way of the portal, not feeling the impact of whatever had hit him from behind. A large figure had knocked him off his feet, tackling him to the ground; neither Buzz nor I couldn't believe our eyes. Wraith, completely shocked by the stranger, took his device to disappear quickly. My mouth was wide opened, seeing another alien duck in front of us. Well build with brown feathers, stepped forward towards me, "Are you the one that called?" I shook my head, pointing at the boy, "He did." He thanked us for the help, ready to get out of the raptor. He kept talking of where he is and how he could get out of the ship, as I spoke up, "...Canard?"

This really caught him by surprise, "how do you know my name?"

"Wild wing told me."

"You know him? Is he here too?"

I nodded, telling him the short version on how the ducks became the famous hockey players of Anaheim. Canard was amazed, not only that they are all well, but also the fact that they seem to get along with the humans on earth. He never seen creatures like us before, but didn't feel scared or alarmed to attack us. Buzz couldn't resist, telling him the special news, "She is even Wild wing's girlfriend!"

"Buzz, he doesn't need to know that!" I felt embarrassed about that. Canard didn't need to know that, especially not in such a situation. The duck raised a brow, "Who knew that he is into other species. We can discuss the rest later; we have to get out of here." Buzz was our ticket out, following him out the raptor. Dragaunus was too slow for us, feeling really furious now. Siege got shot at by him and the others had to watch it all, "How could you let them escape?!" Wraith didn't want to be the next one on the lords list of shooting practice, refusing to tell him about Canard for now. If he knew that he was back, they might not be able to calm down the Saurian Overlord afterwards. Chameleon informed his boss that the intruder were the brat they caught a few months ago, where they had to disguise their raptor as a toilet hut and Wild wings girl. Dragaunus ordered the lizard to spy on the ducks for weeks, even as I caused chaos at the pond. That is how they knew of my relationship with the hockey team. The announcement of me being the goalies girlfriend was all over the news; even the Saurians couldn't help and heard it from somewhere. The overlord might need a new plan, which might involve me to be his hostage or to get rid of me. One or the other, he finds both options good, "We might need some help from someone...prepare the portal. Wraith, I got a job for you."

Back at the pond, wild wing was worried sick.

No one he called knew where I was. Even Buzz was missing; Mallory went over to the comic store to pick us up. The goalie had a bad feeling about this, "Did something happen while I am gone?"

"Nothing, she was happy to see Buzz and then, she was gone. Could it be that the Saurians are involved with this?" Wild wing hoped that this wasn't the case, "If they lay one finger on her, I will make them regret it." Suddenly, the alarm went off. Someone unknown entered the lift. The ducks had to wait till it stopped at the entrance to the headquarters. Ready to shoot, they prepared for anything that might happen. They all gasp, as Buzz and I rose our arms up in defense, "What are you aiming at?" The goalie didn't answer my question, instead, he hugged me tight," Where have you been? I was worried..." the figure in the corner shocked him"...sick..."

"It has been a while, hasn't it Wild wing?"

The entire team was shocked as well as excited to see their old team captain again. Wild wing and Canard held each other like buddies, "Canard, how did you get out of the dimensional limbo?"

He pointed at me, "Ask you girlfriend. She and this boy got me out of this hell hole."
