Break the ice (Mighty ducks x reader)

21. Mean trick

I didn't want to miss out on that, following the others to the Aerowing. Not the best thing to do, as Wild wing and Vonda were alone. She sees me as an obstacle, being too close to the leader, "Hey Wild wing, I think it is for the best if this human girl stays here." The goalie was about to protest, thinking for the next argument I may cause, but Vonda just had the same thought, "It will be too dangerous for her."

"She won't take no for an answer."

I would have gone mental if I saw her touching his arms tenderly, "Can you even fight Dragaunus without thinking of her safety? Face it Wild wing, she should stay here. It is for the best."

Wild wing stood silent for a minute, there was something behind her words that he couldn't put his finger on. Why was she so worried about N/A's safety? She hardly knows her, though the goalie. Even so, he gave in. I as left behind. Not to make me cause a scene, Wild wing asked me to get something from the living room. Whatever it was that he told me to get, I didn't find it. But as I ran back to the Aerowing, it was already gone.

"What the hell?!!!"

I felt betrayed. Phil's appearance didn't make it any easier. The manager stuck on his phone, while asking me where the hot babe of a duck was. I growled at this, "With the ducks...and him."

"When will they be back?"

"I don't know and I don't care!" I pushed the man aside, heading upstairs to the ice rink. Phil didn't seem to get the hint, following me while rambling on about this female duck. Unlike Duke and Nosedive, he was all about the money. But still, his voice was annoying, "Just put a sock in it Phil!"

"Great idea, Vonda socks."

My voice got lower and more deadly, "Don't you ever shut up?!"

"HELP!"

That sudden outburst startled me, "Relax Phil, it is not like I am going to hurt you...yet."

"I didn't say that"

"HELP!"

He was right; it came from above the ice rink, from the scoreboard to be exact. The manager and I went straight up there, seeing Tanya in chains. Phil freed her quickly, as she demanded to know where the others are. The man shrugged, "apparently somewhere...with that gorgeous duck." It seems that Tanya didn't like the sound of that, heading towards the Headquarters. Curious, I ran after her, "Hey Tanya, who is this woman? You know where?"

She nodded, "Oh yes, she is the worst traitor from puck world."

"Please let me come with you. I want to help." At least one duck had some effect on my puppy eyes, now sitting on the duck cycle with her. During the ride, she told me all about this beauty of a duck. I never thought that she could be so dangerous.

And she was prepared to do anything to achieve her goals.

She trapped the whole team at once. The massive tube they were in was starting to get filled with water, with no chance to get out. Vonda meant business, removing the valve. They were in luck, that Tanya could find them by locating the Aerowing. She inspected the tube and saw nothing she could stop the water with or opening the damn thing. I started to panic as the ducks inside almost had no more air to breathe, "Please hurry Tanya!"

"Yes, hurry Tanya" screamed Nosedive, feeling the need for air already.

With no options left, she chose the destroying part, shooting her gun at it. In seconds the room was flooded, including the ducks. Instead of asking where she has been, they wanted to know what took her so long. Tanya seems to be a little amused, blaming them to fall for her trap. Now we knew who we were really dealing with. Her real name is Lucretia DeCoy, although she was known to be a traitor, no one knew how she looked like. Tanya was the only one who knew, "Because I recognized her, she trapped me on top of the score board" she placed a hand on my shoulder, "Luckily, Phil and N/A found me in time."

Wild wing thanked me for that. I just glared back at him, "I don't need it, I want an explanation from you, of why you left me behind."

Duke assured me that I will get it, but first, they had to stop Dragaunus. The goalie didn't feel too worried about that, telling the team of his plan, switching the real chip with a fake. Dragaunus plan failed and Lucretia got her punishment, was to get sucked into the dimensional limbo. She disappeared before we could stop it. At least the ducks got their main target, capturing the saurian Overlord and his henchmen. But now, there was a new problem. The building had loads of explosives inside, one wrong move and we all could die. It was up to Wild wing to decide, on what they should do. Dragaunus used a mean trick, "You should think of your loved ones Wild wing." He hates the Dino breath, but made up his mind, to let them go.

As expected, they didn't leave quietly, destroying the building anyway.

We managed to get out in time though. Back at the pond, Mallory dragged me into her room. Duke and Nosedive followed us. Agreeing on not falling for beautiful ducks again, they were in for a big surprise. Mallory was dressed in a red dress, shoes and a scarf around her shoulder, while her hair was combed back. The two were amazed to see their female team player like that. She asked if they wanted to join her, but the two didn't answer it. It got even better, as I came out, with a long purple dress and a white scarf, "Hey guys, how do I look? Mallory chose this for me; we want to go out shopping." Nosedive was ready to go, saluting me, "It is my honor to carry your bags my angel"

Duke looked irritated, "Hey Dive, what about not falling for women's charm?"

Dive grinned, "Yeah, female ducks...but N/A is a female human...there is a difference."

"In that case...I will carry N/A's bags."

"No I will!"

Mallory sighted, just like me. Here they go again, like a pair of lusty teenagers. But one thing got the female duck curious, "Wait a minute, didn't Wild wing want to talk to you?"

"Yes, but I am not in the mood to hear his excuse." I will have to hear it anyway...but I rather prefer it after a good shopping tour...a very, very long tour.
