30. The portal

Even Dragaunus needed a time off to rest. His henchmen were out to set his plan into motion, while he took a nap. The entire raptor was not secured, in believe that no one find those with the invisible shield activated. Buzz went straight to the main platform, opening the portal. The first opening almost got us sucked in. The second, a giant worm was heading our way. Thankfully he closed it in time. The third one had nothing dangerous coming our way. Feeling nervous I told him to hurry up.

In one go, the walkie-talkie thing was gone.

For once, I came out there without getting caught, attacked or killed, although I had to beg Buzz not to do this ever again. As his friend, he gave me a third speaker device, "If anyone answers, it can communicate with the both of us...and we can use it instead of our phones...is a lot cheaper." Since we made it out, I couldn't be angry at him. The rest of the day, we spend our time exactly the way we planned it.

Wild wing was already in his bunk, waiting for me.

He woke up as he heard the sound of something rustling. I stood in front of Nosedives mountains of comics, adding a few more the collection. Turning around, the goalie smiled, "Did you have a good day with Buzz?"

"Mallory told you?"

He shrugged, "It was my idea. I know he likes her very much."

"Yes I heard...for hours." I just told him everything we done, except entering the raptor part. The goalie cuddled up to me, as my eyes saw something that wasn't there before, "Who is that on the photo?" Wild wing looked up, "That is Canard, my best friend, the one that is a lot like you."

"Oh yeah, the troublemaker that served you to the Saurians on a silver platter."

His smile grew, "The one and only."

"Where did you get that photo?" I never have seen it before on the wall. He found it in the Aerowing as Tanya decided to clean the insides a little. I got into the goalie's arms, while he told me a few more stories about his old friend, till we both fell asleep.

"N/A...."

"N/A?"

"N/A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The loud noise made me jump so badly, that I fell out of bed. Wild wing was too tired to wake up, turning his back to me. It was Buzz's walkie-talkie thing, "Have you lost it? It is three in the morning."

"N/A...someone answered...on the third speaker!"

I sighted, "Probably the monster under your bed telling you to go to sleep."

"It was the one from the portal!"

"I guess you ditched your monster at the age of five, seeking revenge now."

"Don't joking and get ready."

I gasped, "Ready...ready for what?"

The giggle was not a good sign, "We go back to the raptor."

My mind must be doing his own things, dragging my body along to the giant ship. Through my way out, I didn't know that one of the ducks was still awake, hearing me leave the pond. Buzz was also there, grinning like crazy, "Ready N/A?"

"Hold on superman, I didn't hear a single voice form this thing."

"He only said a few words"

I sighted, "Seriously, you drag me out of this because someone said a few words to you? I got to words for you...forget it!"

Buzz was determined to find out the source of this, while I stayed outside, "I am not coming in." The boy must have known that, otherwise he wouldn't have gone ahead alone. The main door shuts automatically when no one uses it and Buzz was the only one who knew how to open it. Annoyed I go inside in time, glaring at him, "Satisfied?!"

"Very"

Walking a few feet behind him, I had to use my Smartphone for light. Buzz used his own phone ,checking the way to the control room. The rustling sound of my Walkie-talkie made me drop my phone. The boy immediately turned on his heel and listened to the device.

"...Hey...help...me..."

"See, I told you!"

I shrugged, "That doesn't convince me."

"But me!" frowning, he continued his journey. Sighting loud, I followed him without complaints. The closer we got towards the control room, the more cleared the signal became.

"...hey...is there somebody?" The voice was a lot cleared now. Pressing the speaker button I just answered with a simple yes. The reply didn't take long, "Help...need help...who are..." Buzz activated the portal again. This time, it didn't stay open for long. The genius however, knew quickly on what the main problem was, "The invisible shield takes too much energy. We have to deactivate for the portal."

"But it worked in the morning"

He nodded, "He must have used a solar system for extra energy, but at night it relies on those that it stored."

Guessing that the Saurians may not notice, since we didn't see them anywhere, I nodded at him to continue. Unfortunately, the henchmen of Dragaunus are still outside the raptor. They stole some explosives for their next plan, but didn't expect to get company so soon. Seeing the shield off got the Saurians nervous, Dragaunus shouldn't know if anyone got into the raptor without his permission. Buzz waited at the right portal for reply, "Here is Buzz, please answer me!" I stood there and waited for him to finish. Suddenly..."Where are...you?"

"At a portal, can you see it?"

"...portal..."

Another five minutes passed and still nothing happened, "Can I take a nap in the meantime?"

"We have to help him!"

"How, we don't even know who that is and where he is exactly" I had a good point. The boy got sad. That is not what I was aiming for, "Sorry Buzz, but we really should get going now. W are here longer than the last time." Feeling defeated, he deactivates it, turning on the shield. For the Saurians a clear sign. Wraith was the first to say it, "Whoever it is must be in the control room." Buzz dragged himself out the door, as my walkie-talkie began to talk, "...portal...it...was here...ago..." Could it be? Was he already near the portal? "Buzz, come back here!" The young boy looked disappointed at me, as my voice got higher, "Activate the portal, now!"
