Break the ice (Mighty ducks x reader)

32. Decision

After the lecture from the ducks I think it was not such a good idea to save Canard. Wild wing was supposed to be angrier with Buzz, but because of my age, he blames me for not acting like the adult I am supposed to be. If it wasn't for Canard to get our back, the goalie would have kept on longer than one hour. His old firmed had some catching up to do with the team, including his best friend Wild wing, talking about what to do next and how they get back home.

I froze at the question, not thinking about it the whole time.

Home, of course they want to go home, earth isn't their planet they came from. I refused to discuss the issue with Wild wing, just enjoy to be with him was all I wanted. Seeing him leave for good was sending chills down my spine. He proposed to me live on television, I doubt that any human boy could ever do the same to me. Apparently they need the portal to get back; therefore they had to catch the Saurians. Buzz was just as sad, not wanting his new friends to leave either, "Do you think they go away N/A?"

"I don't know Buzz, I hope not."

Even as they all went to their training at the ice rink, I watched them play. Canard stayed with me behind the walls, "How long are you together?"

"...a few weeks..."

"You don't sound happy about it."

I shrugged, "Would you if you know your girlfriend would leave you one day?"

Canard knew I heard them, placing his hand on my head, "I am sure it will take longer than expected. For the meantime, enjoy it while it last." He doesn't understand how painful it feels, no matter how long it takes...it will happen at some point and nothing can prepare me for that. Wild wing got concerned, as I ran off, away from Canard. The goalie demanded a short break to speak his old friend, "What happened?"

"She is sad, fearing of losing you."

"I am here."

Canard had to be more precise, "When we go back to Puck world, she doesn't want this to happen. Your girlfriend must really feel deeply for you."

"It took us long enough for getting together, so I am not surprised of this." Wild wing didn't mean to upset me, hoping that I would understand it one day. Canard advised him to keep an eye on me, just in case I try something stupid. The goalie wanted to protest, until he was reminded of how Canard even got here, "Okay, I will...where is N/A now?"

Good question, I was already planning my own mission.

For this I needed my little genius Buzz to support me. I want to get back to the raptor, to destroy the portal once and for all. The boy arrived a few minutes later at the pond, going through the massive computer of the ducks. With is knowledge, it didn't take long to find a hint of where it could be. Unfortunately, a certain duck was spying on us. As the two of us got passed Wild wing, telling him that we would go out for some burgers, he stopped us, "N/A, Buzz, you are not going anywhere." Turning around, we saw all the entire team before us, including Canard. He had a feeling that would try something funny, advising Tanya to install a signal into the computer, in case it gets used without their permission. Wild wing had also kept a close eye on my behavior, noticing that I got really quiet recently. Therefore, he finds it for the best, that Buzz and I won't see each other for a few days, a bad idea for Wild wing. With that, he wanted to get closer to me; instead it only drove me further away. Even the other ducks had no chance to get closer to me. All except Canard, his approached is more natural, not judging my decisions or behavior like the others do. For the goalie just a hard task to manage, feeling a little jealous of his old friend. He gets closer to his girlfriend than Wing ever could. Canard became a good friend to me, I can always talk to.

Wild wing took the chance for a conversation with his friend, as I went out with Nosedive.

He is glad that Canard is back and all, but two things bother him, "Hey canard, can we talk?"

"Sure Wild wing, what is it about?"

The goalie needed a minute to sort out his thoughts, taking off the mask, "I was wondering, if you could take over the job of the leader again. I mean you were the team captain to begin with, so..."

"...so you can focus on your girlfriend?" finished Canard. He knew what Wild wing was after. He finds the goalie as the best leader and therefore, sees no reason to take it away from him. Wild wing wasn't finished yet, getting to his next point, "I took it while you couldn't and besides, N/A means more to me than you can see." In hope that Canard understands his point of view, he got his own, "Do you even know the privileges you received as a team captain? Wild wing, as the leader, you don't only have the responsibility o your team but you also give the orders they have to accept. If I become the leader...you will have to take on my orders." He gave the goalie the example in case they got the portal of the Saurians; Canard would order them to get back home. Wild wing had no other choice but to obey. He doesn't want to make it any harder for Wild wing, but to just let him go as he please is no option either.

Wild wing has to chose, either he stays the leader with all the responsibility or give it back to Canard and follow his lead.
