Break the ice (Mighty ducks x reader)

35. Friends...outer space

I stuck in-between the plants, not capable of running away, still chained at my neck and hands. The hunger of those plants seems to be larger than just swallowing me whole. It needs a lot more that a little human being, but it still wants to get a bite. At this moment, I feared I might be done for.

Who would help me in such a moment like this? There is no one there to save me.

At least that is what I thought of, until something put the plants under a great shock. Whatever it is, it burned the hungry things to crisps. I could see it's face till the smoke had passed. It was some kind of creature with a lion head. It asked me of what I am and why am I here. Al I could say was the name of the Saurian Overlord and the last one with a shrug. Who knows why this Saurians send me here. The lion guy told me how he knew the ducks at space hockey, feeling glad to hear that they got back home safely. He showed me around the planet, explaining me the system of the plants and where we are save. You can imagine how surprised I was, seeing old friends of mine in this place.

Although I called the two guys with the wrong name, they lead me to the right aliens.

It was wonderful to see the watchers Flork and Zork again. I was welcomed by the aliens with open arms, along with all the other citizens. Apparently they told everyone about their human friend from earth and the kindness of giving those flowers and plants for free. Well, they weren't for free but that is not the issue here. The lion guy escaped from his own planet to live in peace, being a guardian for the watchers, since they are a species that prefers not to fight. Flork saw it as an honor to offer me a place to stay, while Zork prepared dinner. Unfortunately, this was not the moment for a sleepover, "I am honored that you let me stay here, but I really have to get back to earth." Once I told them that Dragaunus captured the ducks, they are ready to help me out. Zork grinned wide, "You can count on us and we get there in no time."

"So, earth is not too far away?"

Flork looked worried, "To be honest, it is across the galaxy, it would take a year to get back."

Zork pushed his friend to the side, "Nonsense! With the ship maybe, but even we have a portal for express transports."

"Why didn't you use it before?"

"Plants don't survive this short trip; the dimensional limbo just dries them out in seconds." I considered myself lucky, for not being a plant. All they had to do, is ask the watcher's council for help. Who knew that the ducks even knew these aliens? They looked very interested at me, as I entered their temple with Flork and Zork. They are known as highly intelligent species, the Czarks. The ducks helped them a while ago as they visited the earth. Talking to me changed a few clichés they had on the human beings. I could persuade them that this weirdo Mondoman was just an exceptional idiot human and not like most of the humans on earth. Believing my words, they granting me the trip back home, in return, they wanted me to do an assignment for them.

In Anaheim, Canard and his team found the raptor.

Informing Wild wing about that, he didn't wait to get inside and save the rest of the team members. The team captain expected to need more the time to find them, but he was wrong. Duke and Dive came alone, standing before the other ducks. Not one of them spoke up, just standing there like statues. Mallory got suspicious, "Something isn't right here. Normally Dive would crack up a joke or something." Grin agreed. She never heard him quiet before that is not like Nosedive. Canard finds it just as odd, telling his team to be prepared. It was a good choice, since Duke took the first step and attacked them with his sword. Wild wing and Tanya didn't hear what was happening, running towards the destination they were given. Mallory had trouble to fight off Nosedive, while Grin couldn't get anywhere near Duke. Canard knew they weren't themselves, hoping to take them down without injuring them. With his mask, he was able to find out the source, "They have a controlling device on their suits, remove those things!" Easier said than done, the two seems to be stronger with it. Besides it, they had no idea of the trap they got into. The controlled ducks were just decoys, giving the Saurians the act of a surprise attack. Canard didn't see it coming, getting tackled by Siege. The others got captured by their own team members.

Only Wild wing and Tanya were left.

At the planet of the watchers and Czarks, I stood in front of the portal. Flork and Zork gave me some kind of dress, matching to theirs as a gift, since a plant was out of a question. The tall alien hugged me tenderly, "I look forward sot visit your planet again."

"Thank you Flork. Maybe we can go out shopping again in the garden center."

Zork was all ears on that one," You can count on us babe."

The Czarks waited for me to finish my farewells with everyone, even the lion guy wants me to give the ducks his best wishes. They held me by the shoulders, waiting till the dimension was the one parallel to theirs and earth. Since they landed in the park, they only had the coordination of that place. Let's hope it is close to the raptor or the pond. Once they would let go of me, I was allowed to step forward. Since it took a while I looked back at the aliens, "See you around guys."

Flork had to hold back a tear, "Travel safely"

"I will"

The hands were removed, "Okay human, you are free to go. Don't forget what we agreed on"

"I promise I will fulfill the assignment after I saved my boyfriend and my friends."
