My lips are swollen when I walk out of Christian's office an hour later. I didn't want to leave, but he is, after all, a CEO. And anyhow, I have to meet with my renter today to make sure the apartment is to my liking. Victoria has already seen it and she loves the place. With a college budget, we aren't able to afford a super nice place. She told me that it was a step up from our apartment we lived in throughout college. So I guess that's definitely an advantage.

From: Christian Grey

To: Anastasia Steele

Subject: Visits

Miss Steele,

Thank you for that visit.

Christian Grey

CEO of Grey Holdings and Enterprise and master kisser

I laugh at his title of master. I don't reply back. Instead I run back to my car to avoid getting super soaked again. I had just begun to get dried until I stepped outside. That's the thing about Seattle, the rain never stops. Even when it's the middle of December, it is always raining. Some people have a snowy Christmas while we have a flooded Christmas.

"So, what do you think Miss Steele?" the landlord asks me as we weave through the kitchen that is slightly larger than the one now.

I nod my head as he gestures towards the balcony looking over the Sound. Of course it's one of the cheaper apartment complex, but at least it's nicer than the one at college. "I can say this is a lot nicer than where I'm living now."

"Glad to hear. It's all ready to move in whenever you're ready."

"Awesome. My roommate and I will be moving in this Wednesday actually." I place my hand on the granite counter. It's the only fancy thing in my apartment.

The man shakes my hand and we walk out of the building together. I get into my car, realizing that I still have a couple of hours before I meet with Christian. I could always go window shopping for things that are too expensive to buy now, but when I get my feet planted at the publishing firm, maybe I'll be able to afford it. As I continue walking along the Sound, I play Frank Sinatra on my phone. The music soothes me and makes me less jumpy about tonight. There's no reason to be nervous. Christian may be more...experienced than me, but that shouldn't matter. I'm not ready for that quite yet. He's still a flight risk; continually ticking without a sign of stopping. I'm still waiting for him to combust or to turn off. I'd prefer that he turn off though.

"Anastasia!" Josh grabs me from behind.

"Josh!" I scream.

He sets me back down. "What are you doing in downtown Seattle, Steele?"

"Am I not cool enough to be hanging around Seattle? My mistake; I thought I fit in with all these hipsters on their skateboards," I say as a skateboarder whizzes past us.

Josh looks me up and down. "You look....well Ana, you look like crap."

I put my hand on my hip, pouting my mouth out. "Yeah that's a long story. Christian is making me dinner tonight. Isn't that romantic?"

Josh puts his hand to his heart dramatically. "Isn't Christian Grey so dreamy? He's so cute, OMG! I wanna have little Christian Grey babies!"

I roll my eyes at him. "You are such a jerk." I slap him on the shoulder. "Okay, so maybe I have thought about what our children would look like. They're gorgeous, billionaire babies."

Josh waves his hand in front of my face. "This is getting extremely awkward, Steele."

"You're right," I laugh, "what're you doing down here anyway?"
