"It tried to eat you, Dejal," Hevero said. "You should be thankful for the whole camp and especially Shiv. He got you out of there. The beast would have ripped all your limbs off your body if it weren't for him."
Just as Shiv's name was said he stepped inside the room. Dejal's eyes quickly locked with his.
"Shiv..." Dejal breathed. "I owe you my life."
"You can pay me with your body instead," Shiv said.
"What?" Dejal let out in shock as he choked on his own spit and coughed, making sharp stings of pain shoot through his shoulder.
The others in the room also gave Shiv some weird stares too.
"Not in that way," Shiv said with gritted teeth but a small smile. "He'll have to stay here in the camp. He'll teach and protect the students from feature esyrs. He'll work for me."
Shiv's eyes met with Dejal's eyes again and Shiv couldn't help but trail his eyes over Dejal's exposed body.
Dejal saw Shiv's eyes slowly find their way back up. Dejal couldn't help but tense when he saw Shiv smirk and lick his lips.
"He will be of great help to me."
"Sorry, I have to step in here," Aitan said and caught Shiv's attention. Aitan was taller than Shiv and had to look down to look him in the eyes. "Dejal is no slave of yours just because you saved his life. He has a duty to fulfill. He has his own life. Don't make him your property."
"If you don't want to call it 'slavery' you can call it 'work'. 'Duty', if you might," Shiv let out with a smirk.
"I warn you, Shiv, Aitan is the son of the commander. Don't piss him off," Hevero said. "And Dejal is one of the commander's most trusted friends. Don't do this."
"It's fine," Dejal said as he thought about it. He owed Shiv his life. The least he could do was to help him... even if it meant an affair...
"Dejal, you owe him nothing," Aitan said with a stern tone. "Not even a 'thank you'. Do you know why? Because you didn't ask to be saved."
Bend the rules... and you'll get what you want. If Dejal didn't want to help he didn't have to. Just bend the rules. Bend the rules. Just bend them. Get what you want.
"You are right, Aitan," Dejal said. "I don't need to help you, Shiv."
Shiv gritted his teeth. Then why would I save you the next time if I don't even get a 'thank you' out of it!? He didn't need Dejal's help. He had been fine without him. But not even a thank you?
"At least thank me," Shiv said.
"You really don't have to, Dejal," Aitan said and shrugged.
What a dick! Shiv thought and wanted to punch Aitan in the face. He knew he would get beaten up if he did, so he didn't.
"Thank you, Shiv," Dejal said and sat up, even though it hurt, to look into his eyes. He meant it. Deep down.
Dejal looked shortly at Aitan before turning his gaze towards Shiv again. "I do owe you one."
Ha, it didn't work on him whatever you tried to do, Aitan, Shiv thought and smirked.
"Okay enough of this. If you don't think you can shut up, while I heal him, get out," Hevero said. "Maybe you should check up on Marco again."
