After the death of the Septim line, at the end of the Oblivion crisis, Falowas was forcefully excused from imperial service during a point of rising tensions between his people and the rest of Tamriel. Those beneath the late emperor had grown suspicious of an Altmer in the palace walls, fearing him as a possible spy, affiliated with the uprisings in the Summerset Isles.

The shunned bard wandered Tamriel aimlessly ever-after under the guise of Fal the Exile, eventually even fighting against his own in the Great War centuries later, always loyal to those who would have had the best for the people of Tamriel. But he grew spiteful of an empire who had strayed far from their former honor and glory; and especially sour was his taste for the Thalmor who puppeted them.
