Anubis is one of my few OCs who suffers from Umbraphobia in adulthood. This is due to mental trauma after a solo mission that went awry. The target, Amadeus Medici, had managed to trip up Anubis and capture him. He was locked in Medici's family crypt while A.T.H.E.N.A. searched for him, his signal having gone dead, unable to breach the thick walls of the crypt. Running out of oxygen and stumbling in the dark, Anubis spent three days trying to find a way out before he would succumb to hunger, thirst, and a lack of sleep. Eventually, he managed to use one of the coffin lids to damage a door, bursting out into the clean air and the aid of A.T.H.E.N.A. medical staff. The memory of being trapped in the crypt has haunted him since the event, and he has developed a fear of being trapped in dark, damp spaces for any period of time.
