The Haunting of Forest Lane

Chapter Thirty Three

Ally was outside jumping on the trampoline when she finally sat down to take a break. She laid down on her stomach and was scrolling through tiktok when she thought she heard someone talking behind her, when she turned around she wasn't fully surprised there wasn't anyone behind her.

"Okay Ally, breathe, calm down."

As she kept scrolling through tiktok something grabbed her foot, "I wanna jump too!"

Ally got up as quickly as she could and broke all of Nick's rules and ran back inside.

"Nick! Nick! Something was outside and it grabbed my foot and- Nick?"

She was searching the whole house and there was no sign of him anywhere and she started to grow concerned. 

Molly wheeled Camden into the room with Lauren.

Lauren smiled big when she saw her fiancé, although she wasn't smiling. Camden couldn't believe what she had done, no matter how many times she thought about it, it still seemed unreal. She hurt Lauren and that was unfathomable to her, Lauren laid there with her stomach in a white bandage, and she had various tubes hooked up to her.

"I'll give you two a few minutes I'll be right down the hall."

"Lauren, I am so sorry, you know it wasn't me right."

Lauren saw the panic in her fiancé's eyes, "Camz, I know it wasn't you. It was one of the demons, they possessed your body and caused this to happen. Please don't ever think that I thought it was you, I knew when it happened it wasn't you. Come here."

Camden wheeled herself closer to Lauren and she picked her up her hand and kissed it.

"Camden I love you."

She wiped the tears falling down her face, "I love you too."

Danielle and Amani had just picked up her medication and they were out eating a celebratory dinner, veggie pizza when Danielle's phone started ringing.

"Dani! You have to come home! Nick was just inside and there is no sign of him, his car is still here he didn't leave and Troy won't listen to me, you literally have to believe me, I've searched everywhere!"

"Ally breathe, Nick just disappeared, like he vanished or?"

You could hear the panic rise in her voice, "oh my god, there is someone staring at me through the window, maybe not someone but something, Danielle it's getting closer."

Ally's voice became muffled, "I can't fight it Danielle help me please." 

The phone line went dead, the looked at each other at horror and they both ran out of the restaurant faster than they had ever ran in their lives. They reached the car and Amani buckled in.

"And this is why I have high blood pressure at age 19, because our friend just disappears and something just took our other friend, Jesus Christ Danielle drive faster!"

Camden stayed in her wheelchair and Lauren grabbed her hairbrush off of the tray the hospital supplied and brushed Camden's hair, her long brown hair was naturally curly and was knotted, it hadn't been touched in days. She brushed through every knot making her hair unbelievably smooth and stopped occasionally to rub her shoulders and kiss her neck softly. Lauren was equally in shock when she noticed what the shooting did to Camden, she had to have oxygen on 24/7 she couldn't walk yet, and she wasn't allowed to eat regular food, her eyes were red from lack of sleep and crying constantly.

"You're beautiful Camden Lucia Holmes and I love you. I know this is hard on you and this sucks but I promise you, we will get through this and we can start planning our wedding, Amani's baby shower, her gender reveal party. The babies nursery. We both have to much we're going to accomplish together, and I know you and I are going to come out stronger than ever."

 Molly came back in the room and Lauren gave her one last soft hug.

"Listen, I'll be out of here soon, and I won't leave your side. I love you so much."

"Camden gave her a soft smile, "I love you too."

Once Molly got her back up to her room and situated she sat down and spoke to her, "Camden you're going to be here for a while. Your lungs are still weak from the accident, we will be taking the chest tube out tomorrow, possibly. I know you want to go home and I know you want to be with Lauren, but you need to start therapy first. You will be moved from the ICU after they remove the chest tube. I will let you rest I know you spent time Lauren and you needed that. Your blood pressure is normal and your heart rate is slower. You should be able to get some sleep."

Camden closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep. 

"Camden come look!"

Her little sister was bouncing a ball near the pond, "sissy look, the ball goes so high!"

Camden looked over, but she didn't see anything like she had imagined, her sister was hanging dead from the tree.

"Sophie!"

One of the demons held Sophie's arms in his hands, "don't worry about anything Camden, she's safe with us."

As Camden reached out to grab her sister the demon attacked Sophie and ripped her arm and she was hung their gushing blood and it was spraying all over her body. The demon grabbed her, "oh and you're mine too!"

Camden woke up and looked around, the ICU room was cold and dark, she started pushing her call button rapidly, her heart was racing and she was hyperventilating and shaking. That wasn't any nightmare like she had, had before it involved her sister and she wasn't ready to see her sister like that, and she knew she never would be.
