Chapter Thirty Seven

Nick agreed to meet with Roger, Cassidy's oldest brother after Christmas. They all went back to the house to tell Amani and Lauren, but before anyone could say anything his phone rang again, it was Camden. 

"Camden?"

"Nick, I-I had a bad dream, I don't know w-what happened, I-I need you, I'm s-so scared. Please come" Camden stated through sobs.

"I'll be right there Camden."

Lauren got a worried expression on her face, "Camden? Nick! Is she okay?"

He nodded, "she had a nightmare, she's okay I'm going to talk to her."

Amani stood up, "since Lauren can't go? Can I go in her spot?"

"I think that would be a good idea. Lauren do you care if she goes?"

Lauren shook her head, "no Mani please go! Make sure she's okay please." 

"Anything for my best friend. I will make sure she's 100% before we go okay?"

"Wait Mani! Go upstairs and get my green sweatshirt, it says Miami on it in cursive, I got in high school and Camden started sleeping in it, she loves it so much. Take that you know for comfort."

Amani smiled, "of course Lauren. I will tell her how much you love her and everything will be okay I promise."

Amani grabbed the sweatshirt and jogged to the car with Nick, the ride was filled with comfortable silence until Amani asked a question.

"Nick, do you think the demons can hurt the baby?"

Nick sighed, "I don't know, but I know you have Elizabeth and Cassidy attempting to protect you, they can't stop everything but they're trying there hardest to stop demons from getting to you. I don't think they can actually harm the unborn baby, I mean they can harm you but not the baby."

Amani gave him a half smile, "I mean I guess that makes me feel somewhat at ease knowing that  they can't physically hurt the baby."

"By early June or late May when you deliver the baby the house will be better and if it's not then you can't be there because the demons would target your baby. But you're only 14ish weeks so I have time to get it figured out and I will I promise."

Arriving at the hospital they made it in time before visiting hours ended they ran up to her room. She was alone, she had her hands over her face, crying she was mess.

Amani gently tapped Camden on her shoulder, "Cam, we're here."

Camden jumped at the touch but she was relieved to know someone was with her.

"Camden you called me, but why not the nurses?"

"They don't understand anything. Plus MJ isn't my nurse anymore because I'm not in the ICU. My mom left because Sophie has school, and I don't want nurses coming and touching me giving me anxiety medicine because then the nightmares are even worse, I just need to tell you what happened."

Nick nodded, "I understand Camden, talk to me."

Amani butted in, "wait I have something for you Cam, it's the green sweatshirt of Lauren's you're obsessed with she asked me to give it to you so you can sleep with it since she can't physically sleep with you right now."

Camden hugged the sweatshirt, "it smells like her. I miss her."

"You'll see her soon."

Nick nodded, "you ready to talk now?"

She took a deep breath, "I'm ready. So I finally fell asleep after mom lectured me on how I would be my old self again and how much she loves me. I finally convinced her to go home to see Sophie, and that I needed to sleep. So she left and for once I actually thought I was going to sleep really good since I was exhausted I had physical therapy today and I walked and I was frustrated because Lauren is home and I miss her so much. So I closed my eyes and I was in this room with no windows or doors, it was just this room it was burning hot. The devil was there, in the center. With me. Only me. I couldn't get out. I was screaming but nobody could hear me and I couldn't hear myself. I was looking back at myself and then I discovered the devil is in me Nick. Whenever something happens at the house the devil takes over my body and makes everything worse. It's technically me doing it but the devil is controlling me. He's the one who shot Lauren, I'm the devil. That's why I could see myself in the dream he showed me who I was, and  I was the devil. Cassidy ran into the room I don't know from where but a door appeared and she grabbed me and took me out of it. She told me the first time the devil met me was the night Cassidy had dragged me into the woods, she said It wasn't her It was something evil that made her do it. The devil is the one who made me hit my head on the rock. She never wanted anything to happen to me but the devil over took me and that's why everyone is getting hurt, Cassidy took me to the dead kids park to be nice but the kids are scared of me, because when they see me they see the devil and-"

Amani cut her off, "She takes you to the park to be nice? Now the kids see the devil when they see you? Cam the kids are dead."

Nick stepped in before Camden could reply, "Cassidy takes care of the kids at the park. Those kids have been murdered, died of cancer, diseases, left in hot cars, drowned she wants to give them a safe place they can be kids, since they were robbed of there childhood. I've seen the park before and I know Elizabeth had too. MJ might have seen it but she tries to block out ever living here. She created that park years ago, but the devil noticed your innocence, you're still alive he can control you and earthly things if he possesses someone that is alive. He took you away from Cassidy and she went along with that because she wanted to be your friend, which is why the evil spirits are coming more and more because Cassidy is letting them then thinking they're friends but they're demons and with Camden having the devil inside her they're staying around and hurting everyone else because they want Camden to control everything even though it's not actually Camden, it's the devil.  I understand It now! With the devil possessing you we have to get the devil out of you permanently, once we do that we will be able to trap the evil spirits within the house and condemn them all back to hell and then the house will be clean."

Amani questioned nick, "how do we fix Camden then?"

Nick replied with one word, "Exorcism."

Camden's face turned white as a sheet, "Exorcism isn't something I like to do, it can have lasting effects but once Camden is stronger and home we will figure out what we need to do."
