The Haunting of Forest Lane

Chapter Six

Lauren passed out on the couch from drinking, Camden was asleep in Danielle's room, Danielle joined Ally and Amani in Ally's room to watch a movie.

Danielle turned the TV on and went straight to Netflix to pick out a movie. She started scrolling through the different Genre's "what movie do you wanna watch?"

Amani snatched the remote from her and scrolled to the horror section "let's watch a classic."

Amani stopped and clicked on Friday The 13th. They all agreed and played the movie.

Ally grabbed her favorite pink pillow, Camden had gotten it for her last birthday.

"I'm scared that Camden and Lauren are going to break up."

Amani gave Ally a confused look "why?"

"Well, for one they've been fighting non stop, Camden hasn't been sleeping with Lauren, and she literally slapped Camden across the face. Cam hates fighting, and I know she hates it even more because it's Lauren she's fighting with, and I know for sure that they've never gotten physical before, and with Lauren drinking again it's like highschool all over again with her."

Danielle got comfortable and laid her head on Ally's shoulder. "They're going to work it out, Camden doesn't deserve the way's she's being treated so spending some time apart is smart. I'm captain of Camren, I'm still mad at Lauren but honestly we've known her for years and this has NEVER happened, something has to be going on. She wasn't even like this when she was an alcoholic in high school. I just hope she isn't falling back into her old habits, because I don't want to see her going back into rehab again, but she can drink occasionally and handle herself, she'll be okay."

Amani looked at her two friends and thought how long she'd known Lauren, she had never once hit anyone she loved. Lauren was deemed an alcoholic in high school and missed the beginning of Junior year, June - September she went to rehab for her severe drinking habits that started in 8th grade and only progressed from there, and the drinking she did tonight was a rare occurrence, she never once got violent when she drank, but everyone knew she was masking the pain she felt between her and Camden.

"I just can't believe Lauren would hit her" Amani spoke after being quiet about the whole situation.

The room was silent for a few seconds, until a scream came from the TV causing them to all jump.

"If you think about it though, Camden hit her first" Ally pointed out, seemingly trying to defend Lauren.

"Yeah, but Camden had every right too. You should have heard the things Lauren was saying to Camden. I've never heard her speak to anyone like that especially not to Camden" Danielle said in defense to Camden.

Amani and Ally nodded agreeing. They watched the movie in silence laughing in unison when the girls would fall for no reason.

"She basically threw herself on the floor, like I don't understand why girls in horror films do that" Amani stated.

Danielle laughed "I know right? They basically plan their own death."

The girls all laughed, after a while Amani decided she was going to make popcorn, she went downstairs and saw Lauren passed out on the couch with the champagne bottle next to her, she walked over took the bottle and placed it on the counter, she looked at Lauren's face, her face was tear stained and her makeup was everywhere, she picked a blanket up and covered her up with it. She made sure she was completely covered and kissed her forehead.

"Don't worry Lauren, everything is going to be okay."

She then proceeded to the kitchen, she heard footsteps but couldn't pin point exactly where they were coming from, she figured it was Ally or Danielle upstairs.
