****Christmas Eve****

Amani and Danielle were getting ready to head to her doctors appointment to check her blood pressure and to check on the baby. Amani was getting dressed when Danielle ran in.

"Your baby is the size of a pear" Danielle confidentially shouted while looking at a baby week by week app on her phone.

Amani couldn't help but laugh at her girlfriend, "a pear? I feel like it's the size of a watermelon I feel huge and I haven't even gained that much weight."

Amani plopped down on the bed and pouted and placed her hand on her stomach.

Danielle joined her, "you look beautiful, and honestly baby you're a dancer you're so active you'll lose the baby weight in no time, then you can teach your baby how to dance to be like-"

Amani cut her off, "Danielle this isn't my baby. This is our baby, for the last time. I know you didn't create it, but you're going to create a life for it. You're going to love the baby you already do, even if it is the size of a pear. You'll love it like your own, and in a few years when we get the house figured out and jobs, we will be able to have another baby, you can even have one."

Danielle nodded and pulled up Amani's shirt and kissed her stomach, "I love this baby and I love you just as much, and when the time comes, who knows I might carry a baby, then we will have two feisty children."

At the hospital Camden was preparing to go home for Christmas. The doctors weren't for sure if she would be able to stay home because the pain still became severe at times and she needed help calming down and having her pain medications managed by the doctors, but Camden was getting very depressed there and the doctors were starting to get worried.  Lauren was only able to see her once and that hurt both of them because Lauren promised to be at her side the whole time. She stayed in bed most days and Amani laid with her, but she was just so exhausted walking with the walker but she knew she needed too, but it was making her unable to spend time with her fiancé, and she was getting depressed too. Camden's wounds were healing wonderfully, physical therapy and the sharp chest pain were the only things holding her back from be able to go home and stay home. The doctor had ordered multiple tests and nothing was showing up that would be causing the chest pain. Everyone knew Camden was coming home for Christmas, but Lauren. She wanted to surprise her. She was excited to eat a small Christmas dinner, she had finally been eating solid foods again, and she was excited to see her family and friends, she sent her mom Christmas shopping and would FaceTime her in the store to pick out presents for her friends.

As she was deep in her thoughts when Ally knocked on the door, "knock knock Camzi you have a visitor."

Camden looked up from her phone and she saw Lauren, she was standing there weakly holding onto her walker, she had just finished her last physical therapy session you could tell how tired she was by her appearance and the fact her legs were shaking, She was wearing her old 'Miami Varsity Softball' sweatpants  her hair was down and messy she could tell Lauren barely brushed it this morning and she was wearing there black sweatshirt that said 'I love NY' they had gotten that together while they were looking at Christmas lights in New York on vacation.

"Listen Camden, we have a few hours to explore New York before Amani's mom comes back so we should go look at Christmas lights I think it would be really fun, we can take the subway and check out the lights, you want to?"

"Don't you think her mom would get mad? I'm only 15 and you're 16, but we're children so I don't want us getting in trouble or lost this is like the biggest city on earth."

Lauren rolled her eyes, "come on it'll be fun, plus it'll be our first time seeing lights together, please?"

"I really think Amani's mom is going to be mad."
