The next morning Danielle drove home, she felt guilty leaving Amani there, but she knew her parents were there and Ally was too. She needed to breathe for just a little while. When she returned home, she knocked on the door, Lauren answered it. She looked in and saw Camden sitting on the couch and her face lit up.
"Danielle" Camden nearly tackled her.
"Hey Camzi, I missed you so much. I needed to come see you, I wanted to know if you and Lauren maybe wanted to get lunch with me? I need to shower too and change my clothes I'm not smelling to great."
Camden shouted, "we would love too!"
Camden went to fix her hair in the bathroom before Danielle showered and her and Lauren were catching up.
"So this is the new bed Nick got for you?"
Lauren nodded, "this is our new house! It's so amazing to sleep through the night without seeing demons of having nightmares of Camden dying it's crazy."
Danielle smirked, "I'm more interested in this bed and why it has a headboard, I believe you broke the last one didn't you?"
She rolled her eyes, "You can't remember important things, but Camden tells you one little detail and you remember it."
"Well Laur you breaking a headboard isn't a bad thing just shows Camden is good at what she does."
Camden walked into the room at that very moment and turned around, Danielle grabbed her and gave her a hi five, "listen Camden I'm trying to hype you up here."
Camden rolled her eyes, "I thought you wanted to get lunch. Go shower so we can go."
Danielle took the longest shower she had ever taken. She was letting the hot water roll down her back, she stood there and couldn't believe what her life was turning into. She was 18 years old and her girlfriend was dying in front of her, and she was now a mom and would be responsible for this little girl for the next 18 years. Holidays would be different, she would buying presents for her daughter. In 5 years she would be taking her to kindergarten, and just like herself, Amaya would have her likes and dislikes. She knew she would have her friends, but she would be doing all of this without Amani. She turned the water off and dried her body off but she was still getting wet, she looked into the mirror and she was crying. She has cried so much in the past few weeks that it was a normal occurrence. She took deep breath and slipped her sweatshirt on and a pair of Amani's sweatpants. She put her hair into a messy bun and put on a brave face and joined her friends who were sitting on there new bed.
"I'm ready now."
Lauren hugged her friends arm as they walked down the stairs, "you know that comment I made towards Camden earlier, you know I was joking right?"
"Yeah I know, Cam knows too she's just going through a lot especially from the exorcism. Her ankles and wrists are covered in bruises and she has some on her back and legs, she looks pretty beat up. You just better be glad I love you."
"I'm better than glad, I'm blessed to not only have you but Cam too."
All three girls piled into Lauren's car and she drove them to there favorite pizza place. Danielle was so happy to be eating something other than the shitty cafeteria food or from a vending machine. They were sitting at a booth next to the window as they watched the waves crash onto the beach.
"I can't wait to one day I can bring Amaya here. I would love for Amani to be there to but I know that's not going to happen, but we swing Amaya together in our arms, but it looks like I will be running down the beach chasing her and trying to convince her to come back to me so we can eat icecream together and hang out with aunt Camden and Lauren."
