Chapter Forty Nine

Amani knew the last thing she would have to do would be push, but she didn't think she had enough strength to do so. MJ stepped in while the doctors were preparing her to push and had Danielle step back.

"Let me talk to Amani real quick okay?"

Danielle nodded slowly releasing her hand.

"Hey sweetie listen, I know this sucks right now, and you want this to all be over, Once is Amaya is here all this pain will be gone and you will have your baby girl. We're going to take her straight to the NICU and run some tests and to see what she needs from us. Danielle will go and see her in the morning it's getting late now, and once you're feeling better and have been without a fever for 24 hours you can see her. You're just going to have to give me some big pushes and this will all be over. Everyone is here with you. I know you can do this, you've been waiting for this moment for months, and it's finally here."

Amani shook her head, "I can't MJ I can't. Amaya needs to be okay."

MJ reassured her and grabbed her hand " the doctors are going to do everything that they can. She has a team of doctors waiting for her, and you need to help us so we can help you after she's born, and you can get you your daughter quicker, and we give you some different mediations to help fight the pneumonia."

MJ stepped back and Danielle grabbed her hand, Amani immediately grabbed it back and squeezed it.

"I'm never getting pregnant again and this is a warning for every single one of your guys, this is fucking horrible. These damn contractions, and I swear to god pushing something out of you should be illegal!"

MJ asked her to push, Amani tried and she let out a scream.

"Amani use all that energy down here to push her out, you can do it!"

After 3 pushes she got the head out. She laid her back on the pillow and Ally wiped the tears off her cheek.

"Good job Amani! You got the head out. Next contraction give me a big push for her shoulders, and then your daughter will be here, and you will feel much better!"

Danielle kissed Amani's hand and she grabbed Lauren's hand and Danielle's.

More doctors came in on stand by to take Amaya to the NICU.

Amani looked at MJ and stated, "I can't do it."

Danielle looked at Amani, "You're doing so great baby! You're almost there."

MJ stepped in, "Amani you can do this, I know you can just wait for the contraction and push."

She shook her head, "no you guys don't understand, I can't breathe I feel like I'm suffocating."

As soon as she said that her oxygen levels started dropping.

"Amani's stats are dropping, we need to get this baby out before she crashes"MJ called out.

"Amani, I know this is hard, but push for me."

She started coughing and her heart rate started to increase. She gave a big push and she screamed, her oxygen levels dropped more, and Amaya came out, and she was crying really softly it was hard to hear her. Everyone was so focused on Amani nobody knew the status of Amaya.

"She's crashing! Everyone needs to step out" MJ called out.

The girls watched Amani's hand fall of Danielle's grip, she laid there on the bed with blood all down her legs and her body dripping with sweat. A nurse hit the code blue button it was broadcasted over the intercom system, and the girls were standing in the hallway in shock as that what had just happened. Jayla held Danielle and Sasha in her arms, as they cried, she tried to stay strong for the girls, Nick was holding Ally is his arms and Camden and Lauren held each other.
