Danielle and Ally decided they were going to the store together so they were both getting ready while Camden and Lauren were sleeping in their bed.
Ally was sitting in the living room waiting for Danielle to do the finishing touches of her straightening her hair, she looked down at the cross necklace she was wearing and held it in her hand, "as long I am the child of God, no demon can ever hurt me."
She heard footsteps coming from the kitchen and stood up to see if Danielle was ready. She watched her taller friend pull the gallon of orange juice out of the fridge and pour herself a glass.
"You ready to go Dani?"
Danielle turned to the direction of her shorter friend and just smiled she didn't say a word.
"Dani?"
Just then there was a loud bang that came from upstairs and you could hear Danielle shout in frustration "Damn it!"
Ally whipped her head back to the kitchen and nobody was there. Ally's stomach began to twist and turn. The cup of orange juice was still sitting on the counter untouched. She stood there frozen, not being able to comprehend what has just happened in front of her. She walked upstairs to Dani's room who was standing there straightening her hair.
"I'm sorry Ally, I'll be done in just a second, I totally missed a spot" Dani apologized.
Ally became extra confused now, "Weren't you just downstairs?"
Dani unplugged her straightener and placed it on top of her dresser and turned to face Ally, "what are you talking about? I've been up here getting ready."
Ally shook her head "no, you were just downstairs, you poured yourself a glass of orange juice."
Danielle grabbed her purse off of her bed and replied "I swear I've been up in my room getting ready. I don't even like orange juice remember. I only drink apple juice. Are you getting sick too?"
Ally shook her head "forget it. I'm sorry for bringing anything up."
Danielle dismissed their conversation and before they left the house she stopped in front of Amani's door, and knocked on it.
"What are you doing" Ally asked but didn't try to intervene she knew the two were close.
There was no answer, she knocked much harder this time, "I want to check on her to make sure she's okay. She hasn't left her room all day."
Ally nodded, Danielle knocked one last time harder than the previous times. The door finally opened, there stood an annoyed Amani.
"Can I help you" Amani snapped bitterly.
Danielle adjusted her purse so it was sitting on her shoulder, and stared back and Amani not amused by her attitude.
"We're going to the store and wondered if you wanted to come since you've been locked up in your room all day and totally blew off the breakfast that Camden made."
Ally stood there watching the interaction between the two, Amani was wearing a sports bra and Dani's eyes kept drifting to Amani's chest.
"No I'm good. I need to practice my new choreography for class before I have to preform this week and plus I only eat food Lauren makes."
A question popped into Ally's head and she blurted out "Did you hear Camden scream earlier?"
"No, when and why? What happened to her is she okay?"
The bitterness that was once plastered to her face was now replaced with concern and worry.
"Apparently, she saw a little girl standing in her room, she's been acting really strange and we don't know why. Lauren thinks she's sick but I don't know. I'm getting worried about her too."
