a golden sun ray peered from my pink sheer curtains gently resting on my naked back, engulfing me in warmth.

i couldn't get any sleep last night, i always had a hard time sleeping in places i'm not familiar with....or maybe that's just my excuse for my crippling insomnia.

sighing lightly, i suddenly heard a noise that sounded like a bell.

weird...

i'm not sure where that sound would come from. aside from my window being opened, this apartment is currently so quiet that if you dropped a pen you would hear it.

suddenly, the sound of soft purring instantly filled my room causing me to abruptly sit up and cover my boobs with my silky pink blanket. i frantically followed the purs, turning towards my window.

a small white cat with the prettiest bright blue eyes sat on the ledge of my windowsill, a white collar with a small dangling bell hung from the cat's neck.

they belonged to someone...aw.

"oh my...." i softly mumbled to myself as i crawled to the end of my bed. i've never seen a cat so beautiful before, i wish i could take them in but their owner is probably worried sick. "how'd you get in here love ?"

"her name's mi-na...." lightly jumping from my sister's sudden voice, i looked back and seen her in my doorway leaning against the doorframe.

hearing mommy's name almost made me broke down in tears, i haven't heard it in so long—so long that it sounded foreign. it surprised me that she would choose that name for her, giving that she didn't give a fuck about mommy unless dad did but....let's not dwell on that.

"you named her after mommy ?" i softly croaked, finally speaking to sage. i kept my attention on mi-na and watched as she sashayed to me, fitting herself in my lap.

"yeah....she's a free will. she wanders the neighborhood and somehow always find her way back home, she's so special..." sage explained and i smiled lightly, feeling her rub her head against my chest. instantly, i felt the biggest connection with her. i'm gonna love her till infinity...

the thought of mi-na roaming the dangerous streets didn't sit right with me....what if she gets hurt or catnapped ! it's not safe out there for her...

she literally been doing this before i got here, she's a pro...

i don't care, i will stress myself out every single day for her safety...

"alright, let her go...time to get ready." my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "did you forget that school exists ? today's monday..."

my eyes widen at the word school....i haven't been to a real school since, the last time i remember being in a school was when i was 11. ever since then i've been homeschooled.

school is gonna be a huge step for me, i honestly don't think i'm mentally ready to face so much....people.

"do i have to go ?" i lowly asked, fumbling with mi-na's soft white tail. i then brung my attention to sage who stared at me as if i had 2 heads.

"of course you gotta go aina-ophelia, i already registered you. i don't play about education and you know that. now let her go and get ready....i brought you a bookbag yesterday and stuffed it with everything you need.." i watched as she pointed to a black Jansport bookbag that sat against my small loveseat before walking off. "....oh and don't forget to take your medication !"

sighing lightly, i sluggishly made my way to the bathroom with mi-na trailing behind me. i did my hygiene and wrapped a pink towel around myself before walking into my semi messy closet.
