I seriously wanted to laugh.
DUMBLEDORE?
Seriously?
I coughed slightly and shook the old man's hand.
He looked at me with an arched eyebrow. "And you are?"
"Alexandra Marine," I answered, still trying not to laugh.
He turned to the others.
"This is my half- brother, Percy," I introduced. "And his girlfriend, Annabeth, Nico, our cousin, Will, Nico's boyfriend, and Jason, he is mine."
Jason raised an eyebrow at that. I stuck out my tongue playfully.
"And you are Alphard Black's grandchildren?" Dumbledore asked, looking at me, Percy and Nico.
We nodded in sync.
"And how come your names are not in the Black Family tapestry?"
We looked at each other for a moment.
Just before I was about to say, 'I don't know,' the correct answer floated into my mind. "Grandad told us that since his name was taken away from the tapestry before he married Grandma, none of our names were there either.
Dumbledore nodded. He was either actually trusting us or he was a very good actor.
He stroked his extra-extra-long beard. "And you are all sixteen?"
"Well," Nico said, "everyone except me. I'm fifteen."
"And you can perform this magic?" Dumbledore pointed to the walls and decor.
I blinked. The words flowed out of my mouth even before I could comprehend them. "We studied in America. Legal age of sorcery there is sixteen. Surely, you know that much?"
Dumbledore nodded again. "And you have the skills required to perform such-- extensive magic?"
Annabeth pulled out her Godmother stick. (We called it so because it resembled the Godmother's wand from Cinderella.... I shouldn't have to explain this.)
She raised it above her head and brought it swishing down on to the bed. All the sheets folded themselves neatly. The pillows stacked themselves in rows and columns by size. Annabeth huffed and turned, her face glowing with pride.
Percy whistled.
"See?" he said, "We can do stuff."
I sensed instantly that Dumbledore was growing suspicious by the second.
"You're wondering why you can't read our minds," Nico said darkly.
Dumbledore's eyes went wide. He turned to Nico in shock. "How-?"
"All of us are way more resistant to magic than you are," Percy said. "We're descendants of the great line of Olympia from our grandma's side... she was a Squib."
Sirius gasped. "Olympia!"
"Annabeth, Will and Jason are very distantly related, and not by blood," Nico said, "They are all descended from the lineage of The Champions."
Dumbledore seemed to think upon this. "That seems to answer the question as to how six young children could be so powerful."
I nodded. Looking at this man, I could simply scan through his memories. He was rather strong, but he was a mortal. Weak, but strong by mortal standards. "And we're not here to re-design, just so you're aware. We're here to help. Unless you find a reason not to include us in your secret society, The Order of the Phoenix, we'll find another way to get rid of Voldemort."
