The Thestral bowed down and I got on. Alex and I were perfectly settled, when-
"How're we supposed to get on?" said Ron faintly. "When we can't see the things?"
I snorted and slid down from mine. "Be right back, bud."
'Okay, boss.'
I whistled at Ron's Thestral. "Let's help this one out, okay?"
"Okay," Ron replied.
"I wasn't talking to you."
The Thestral whinnied. 'What do I do, Son of the Sea God?'
"Let's go easy on him, okay?"
Ron was panicking. "What?"
"Ron, stand on that tree stump," I instructed.
"Okay."
"Buddy, I know you don't do this, but it's be great if you kneeled just a bit-"
"What d'you mean, kneel down?!"
"Again, not talking to you, Ron!"
'No problem, boss.'
"Okay, Ron, just swing your leg over gently- GENTLY!"
"Oh my god! There's- what is that?!" Ron panicked all over again.
"It's just his mane! Stop panicking! See, now he's panicking too!"
He slumped onto the Thestral's back, and clutched onto it's hair tight. "O-o-kay."
"You okay, bud?"
"Yeah, I guess-"
"Not you, Ron!"
'Can I get donuts after this?'
I laughed. "What is it with you and your donuts?"
"Donuts?!" Ron asked, still panicking.
"I'm gonna need you to calm down or your Thestral will eat you," I said threateningly, and turned around to find only me left standing on the ground.
"You took your time," Annabeth said as I leapt onto my Thestral.
"Ron did."
"This is mad," Ron murmured, moving his free hand gingerly up and down his horse's neck. "Mad... if I could just see it--"
"You'd better hope it stays invisible," said Harry darkly. "We all ready, then?"
They all nodded and he saw live pairs of knees tighten beneath their robes.
"OK..."
'Where to, boss?' Alex's Thestral asked. Apparently, it was the head of it's pack.
Alex turned to Harry. "Where we going?"
"Ministry of Magic, visitors' entrance, London," Harry replied.
"You heard the man, Alyder. Let's go!"
"Who's Alyder?" was Ron's last question before he started screaming in despair.
Zen, my Thestral, was almost neighing in delight as we took off into the skies. 'TO WAR!' she screamed.
Alex was laughing in delight. "Easy, boy! You're fast as Ardens!"
"I prefer Tempest!" Jason shouted at her. A cold wind hit my face. "That was him."
Alex, Jason, Will and I spread our arms, embracing the cold air and the smell of ozone.
"THIS IS AMAZING!" Annabeth screamed.
