Jaden arrived in Celadon City with a newly evolved Pidgeotto. It was a sunny day. He saw that Celadon City had many shopping malls. He wanted to head straight to the Gym but decided he needed to rest up first. He headed to the Pokemon Centre. While Nurse Joy was tending to his Pokemon, he noticed a brochure. He looked at it. He read that Celadon City had many shopping malls with clothes for people and Pokemon.
Jaden: I'll try these when I get my fourth badge.
The alarm rang to say his Pokemon were healthy.
Nurse Joy: Your Pokemon are back to full strength. Please come again.
Jaden: Thanks, Nurse Joy. Bye. Now, let's head to the Gym.
He arrived at the Gym where he entered. When he entered, he noticed that inside it was like a garden centre, maybe even a forest. Then a woman approached him.
Kay: Hello, my name is Kay.
Jaden: Hi. I'm Jaden. I'm here to challenge the Gym.
Kay: Okay. Please follow me.
Kay led Jaden to the Gym Leader, Erika.
Kay: Miss Erika, a challenger is here.
Jaden: Hello. I'm Jaden.
Erika: Good day to you Jaden. I'm honored to fight you.
Jaden: Same to you.
Kay: Shall we start?
Erika: Of course. Let's get prepared.
They headed to the battlefield. A normal battlefield surrounded by grass.
Kay: This Gym battle between the Gym Leader Erika and the challenger Jaden will now begin. This will be a three-on-three battle and the battle will be over when one side's Pokemon are unable to continue. Furthermore, the challenger is allowed to make substitutions. Now bring out your first Pokemon.
Erika: Tangela, time to bloom.
Jaden: Go Growlithe!
Kay: Now, battle begin.
Erika: Tangela, use Sleep Powder!
Jaden: Use Dig to dodge!
Growlithe went underground.
Erika: Keep your eyes open. We don't where it's going to pop up.
Growlithe popped up under Tangela and sent it flying.
Erika: Tangela no!
Jaden: Use Flame Wheel!
As Flame Wheel was charging towards Tangela, nothing unexpected happened.
Erika: Tangela, use Vine Whip and aim for the trees!
Jaden: What?!
Tangela used Vine Whip against the trees and used it to swing itself away. Flame Wheel missed.
Jaden: Whoa. That was unexpected.
Erika: I have battled many Fire-types, so naturally I have countermeasures in store.
Jaden: I should've expected this, but I didn't. Use Flamethrower!
Erika: Use Vine Whip again to dodge!
Tangela swung from a tree. Then suddenly, Growlithe appeared in front of Tangela.
Erika: What's this?
Jaden: Don't think that'll work twice. Use Flamethrower!
As Tangela was so close to Growlithe, it had no time to react and took a direct hit. Tangela was blasted into a tree.
Kay: Tangela is unable to battle. Growlithe is the winner.
Jaden: Awesome. That's one down.
Erika: Return Tangela. You battled well. Weepinbell, time to bloom!
Jaden: A Weepinbell. It's part Poison-type, so we'll need to be careful. Use Flamethrower!
Erika: Use Protect!
Jaden: What?! It knows Protect?!
A protective barrier surrounded Weepinbell.
Erika: Use Poison Jab!
Weepinbell swiftly charged towards Growlithe and jabbed it directly. It was a powerful attack. Growlithe struggled to stand up.
