Jaden's battle with Drake has just begun, with Drake's first Pokemon stunning Jaden.
Jaden: Go Arcanine.
Drake: I choose you, Ditto!
Jaden: A Ditto?
Pokemon: Ditto, the Transform Pokemon. When it spots an enemy, its body transfigures into an almost perfect copy of its opponent.
Jaden: A Pokemon that can transform? I've never seen one before.
Drake: Then this should get interesting. Alright Ditto, transform!
Ditto transformed into Arcanine.
Jaden: That means it's able to use the same moves as Arcanine. I need to be careful.
Referee: Start the battle!
Drake: Ditto, use Extreme Speed!
Jaden: Arcanine, you use Extreme Speed as well!
Both Pokemon started to spirit around the battlefield, with Jaden's Arcanine being the faster of the two.
Jaden: Now strike!
Arcanine struck Ditto with a lot of power.
Drake: Ditto, use Flamethrower!
Jaden: Use Flamethrower too!
Both Pokemon were evenly matched.
Drake: Ditto, use Psychic Fangs!
Ditto aimed fangs of psychic energy at Arcanine.
Jaden: Wait and use Fire Blast!
Arcanine held its ground and aimed an X of fire at Ditto. Ditto took a direct hit.
Jaden: Now use Flamethrower!
Arcanine released a powerful flamethrower at a damaged Ditto. It took another direct hit.
Drake: Ditto, get up!
Ditto was struggling to stand up.
Jaden: Ditto may transform into an opponent, but it can't copy its personal attributes. Use Extreme Speed!
Arcanine began to run around Ditto, who was already damaged.
Drake: Keep firing Flamethrower!
Ditto kept firing multiple flamethrowers at Arcanine and kept missing.
Jaden: Now hit it!
Arcanine barged into Ditto from behind.
Drake: Ditto, no!
Jaden: Finish this with Flamethrower!
Arcanine fired a strong flamethrower at Ditto and landed a direct hit.
Drake: Ditto!
Referee: Ditto is unable to battle. Arcanine is the winner.
Jaden: Yes! That's the start we needed.
Cynthia: Nice job. Keep it up.
When defeated, Ditto returned to its normal form.
Drake: Return Ditto. Nice battling. Get a good rest. You're strong like I hoped you'd be. But this has only started. Go Onix!
Jaden: An Onix next. Return Arcanine.
Arcanine returned to Jaden's side.
Jaden: Go Lapras!
Lapras went into the pool at the centre of the field.
Drake: A shiny Pokemon, huh? Not every day you see one of those. Use Iron Tail!
Jaden: Use Ice Beam to freeze it!
As Onix's metal tail was coming, Lapras fired an ice beam which froze its tail.
Drake: What?!
Jaden: Use Hydro Pump!
Lapras fired a powerful pump of water at Onix and landed a super-effective hit.
Drake: Onix!
Jaden: Now use Ice Beam!
Drake: Onix, Dig!
Onix went underground.
Jaden: Ah! Missed. Keep your eyes out, Lapras! Where is it gonna pop up?
Then Onix appeared from behind Lapras.
Jaden: Behind you!
Drake: Onix, use Rock Tomb!
Rocks began to fall toward Lapras.
Jaden: Lapras, quickly swim away!
Lapras was swimming away, but it was moving a bit slowly.
The rocks landed in the water.
Jaden: Lapras, are you okay?
Lapras seemed to have taken some damage.
Drake: Use Iron Tail!
Onix's metal tail was aimed at Lapras.
Jaden: Use Blizzard!
Lapras summoned a powerful blizzard and Onix felt the attack.
Drake: Onix, use Dig!
But it didn't. It was too cold for it to move.
Jaden: Lapras, use Ice Beam!
Lapras fired an ice beam at a shivering Onix. It landed a direct hit.
Drake: Onix! Oh no.
Onix was frozen in ice.
Jaden: Finish this with Hydro Pump!
Lapras fired an ice beam at a frozen Onix. It landed a direct hit and Onix was broken out of the ice.
Referee: Onix is unable to battle. Lapras is the winner.
Jaden: Yes. And that's two.
Drake: Return Onix. A good battle. Get some rest. I'll admit you're strong. But this time you won't stand a ghost of a chance.
Announcer: And Drake's third Pokemon is Gengar.
Jaden: Lapras is tired. Return. Go Gengar!
Announcer: And it's a battle of two Gengars. But whose Gengar will come out on top?
Drake: Gengar, use Night Shade!
Jaden: Gengar, counter with Shadow Ball!
Night Shade and Shadow Ball collided.
Drake: Use your Shadow Ball!
Jaden: Shadow Ball again!
Both attacks collided again.
Jaden: Gengar, use Shadow Punch!
Drake's Gengar took a direct hit.
Drake: Gengar, stay strong and use Psychic!
Jaden: What? It knows Psychic?
Gengar's psychic attack grabbed hold of Jaden's Gengar.
Jaden: Gengar, try and break free!
Jaden's Gengar was struggling to break free.
Drake: Now throw it!
Drake's Gengar threw Jaden's into the wall.
Drake: Now use Thunderbolt!
Jaden's Gengar was defenceless against thunderbolt and took a direct hit.
Jaden: Gengar, are you okay? Get up!
Gengar was tired and damaged.
Drake: Let's wrap this up. Use Shadow Ball!
Jaden: Use Shadow Ball too!
Both attacks collided again.
Jaden: Use Shadow Punch!
Jaden's Gengar landed a direct hit.
Drake: Gengar, get a hold of yourself!
Jaden: Use Dark Pulse!
Gengar landed another direct hit and was super effective.
Announcer: Both Pokemon are tired out. I guess it'll come down to who wants it more.
Jaden & Drake: And that's me!
Drake: Use Thunderbolt!
Jaden: Use Dark Pulse!
Both attacks missed each other and landed a hit on the opposing Pokemon.
Jaden & Drake: Gengar no!
Both Gengars landed on the ground.
Referee: Both Pokemon are unable to battle. This is a double knockout.
Jaden: Return Gengar. Nice battling. Get a good rest.
Drake: Gengar, return. You were great. Rest easy. I guess a break is needed. But this is only getting started.
Jaden: Yeah. But I won't hold back.
Drake: I wouldn't want you to.
Jaden has managed to defeat three of Drake's Pokemon while he only lost one. Can he keep his advantage?
