Chapter 149: Sandgem Town.

Jaden and Arcanine set off to Sandgem Town to see Professor Rowan as part of their new journey in Sinnoh.

As they were walking through the forest, Jaden was taken aback.

Jaden: Wow. Haven't in these woods in years. I used to explore these woods on my own. Sandgem Town isn't that far away. Just a little while longer.

Jaden and Arcanine arrived at Professor Rowan's lab in Sandgem Town and entered.

Jaden: Professor Rowan? Are you here?
Prof. Rowan: Jaden? It's good to see you. Congratulations on your victories in Hoenn.
Jaden: Thanks.
Prof. Rowan: So, what brings you here?
Jaden: I wanted to ask for a Pokedex and some pokeballs as I'm travelling through Sinnoh.
Prof. Rowan: That's surprising. In any case, here you go.

Jaden received the Sinnoh Pokedex and pokeballs.

Jaden: Thank you.
Prof. Rowan: Before you go, would you like to select a starter to take with you?
Jaden: A starter, huh? I'm not sure. I wanted to catch some while travelling.
Prof. Rowan: Would you like to meet them before making a decision.
Jaden: It can't hurt.

Professor Rowan revealed the three starter Pokemon of Sinnoh.

Prof. Rowan: First, we have Turtwig, the Tiny Leaf Pokemon. Piplup, the Penguin Pokemon. And finally, Chimchar, the Chimp Pokemon.
Jaden: In my mind, this journey is my most important, so I'll need a Pokemon with a strong evolution. In that case, I'll choose Chimchar.

Chimchar jumped up and down with happiness.

Prof. Rowan: An excellent choice. Here is his pokeball.

Jaden received Chimchar.

Jaden: Listen, Chimchar, I will be training almost every day, so be prepared to be pushed to your limits.

Chimchar had a face who was ready for what lies in the future.

Jaden: Now, return. Bye, Professor Rowan.
Prof. Rowan: Good luck, Jaden.

They left Professor Rowan's lab and were heading the way out until they met with a familiar face.

???: Well, well, if it isn't Jaden.
Jaden: Huh?

Jaden saw who it was.

Jaden: Gary? What brings you to Sinnoh?
Gary: I'm researching Pokemon, who have evolutions in Sinnoh. It's what I've decided to do after you beat me.
Jaden: And how is your research going?
Gary: Pretty good. Take a look.

Gary brought one of said Pokemon.

Jaden: What's that?
Gary: This is Electivire, who evolves from Electabuzz.
Pokedex: Electivire, the Thunderbolt Pokemon and the evolved form of Electabuzz. It pushes the tip of its two tails against the foe, then let loose over twenty thousand volts of electricity.
Jaden: Any other Pokemon?
Gary: I've discovered that Eevee has two more evolutions here, though I'm not sure how they evolve. If I'm not mistaken, you have an Electabuzz, right?

Jaden: Yeah. I might as well evolve it while I'm here.
Gary: Well, let me tell you, it's not gonna be easy. But that won't matter as it's you I'm talking to. I'll see ya around.

Gary left.

Before leaving, Jaden received his Electabuzz from Professor Oak.

After that, they left.

Once walking for a little while, Jaden decided to train.

Jaden: Come out, guys.

He brought out Chimchar and Electabuzz.

Jaden: First, let's check Chimchar's moves.
Pokedex: Chimchar's moves are Ember, Scratch, and Leer.
Jaden: Certainly improvable. Let's start training. Chimchar, attack Electabuzz with Scratch.

Chimchar attacked with its claws.

Jaden: Electabuzz, stand your ground!

Electabuzz stood its ground and took Chimchar's attack.

It didn't do much.

Jaden: Electabuzz, Thunder Punch.

Electabuzz attacked with a punch of electricity.

Jaden: Chimchar, dodge!

Chimchar jumped over Electabuzz.

Jaden: Now, Ember!

Chimchar attacked with small flames and landed a hit.

Jaden: Thunderbolt!

Electabuzz fired a thunderbolt and landed a direct hit, which damaged Chimchar.

Jaden: That's enough. We don't want to push you too far. Have an oran berry.

Chimchar ate an oran berry and regained energy.

Jaden: Now, return. We'll train Chimchar by battling wild Pokemon and other trainers. Let's go.

And so, Jaden's journey in Sinnoh has begun and training is his first priority.
