Jaden lifted the trophy with his Pokemon by his side celebrating.
Cynthia: Well done, Jaden. I'm so proud.
She was applauding Jaden's success.
Jaden was smiling as he lifted the trophy.
1 month later...

Jaden and Arcanine were back home in Sinnoh with all his Pokemon running in the backyard.
Cynthia: How are you feeling?
Jaden: I'm fine. Why do you keep asking me that?
Cynthia: Because of what happened last time. You wanted to travel to Johto.
Jaden: So?
Cynthia: So I thought you might be thinking about heading to Hoenn, since Lance was speaking about it.
Jaden: Oh yeah. I've been thinking about that. To be honest, I've been wanting to go but I wanted to spend time here for a while.
Cynthia: You don't need to spare my feelings. I understand if you want to go. And trust me, you'll want to.
Jaden: Really? Have you been there?
Cynthia: Yeah. I travelled there with Garchomp. It's a nice region with many Pokemon.
Jaden: Now you're making me want to go right now.
Cynthia: Why not go at the start of next week?
Jaden: Yeah, sure. But first, I wanna battle.
Cynthia: Huh? Against me?
Jaden: Yeah. I want to see how stronger I've gotten. And if I need to get stronger, I'll need to travel to Hoenn.
Cynthia: I understand. You know, I admire you, Jaden. I love your strength and your willingness to succeed. So sure, let's battle.
Jaden and Cynthia decided to battle in their backyard, where they had their battlefield and all of their Pokemon were watching, along with his mom.
Cynthia: Is a one-on-one okay with you?
Jaden: Yeah. Go Arcanine.
Cynthia: You know, I've been wanting to battle Arcanine for a while now. Garchomp, battle dance! You may have the first attack.
Jaden: Okay. Use Extreme Speed!
Arcanine ran around Garchomp with great speed.
Cynthia: I've seen you do this before. Use Dig!
Garchomp dug a hole and went underground.
Jaden: Aim Flamethrower down the hole!
Arcanine stopped running and fired a flamethrower into the hole.
Cynthia: Use Dragon Claw!
Garchomp emerged from below and attacked with huge, sharp claws.
Garchomp landed a hit.
Jaden: Are you okay, Arcanine? Now, use Flamethrower!
Arcanine fired a flamethrower and landed a hit but wasn't very effective.
Garchomp was engulfed in flames.
Cynthia: Dragon Rush.
Garchomp lept into the air and came soaring down.
Jaden: Use Flare Blitz!
Arcanine cloaked itself in fire and charged toward Garchomp.
Arcanine and Garchomp clashed with each showing great power.
Arcanine and Garchomp landed on their feet but Arcanine felt recoil damage.
Cynthia: Use Liquidation!
Jaden: What? A water type move?
Garchomp fired a full-force blast of water at Arcanine and landed a super-effective hit.
Jaden: Arcanine no!
Cynthia: Let's end this. Dragon Claw!
Garchomp charged with huge, sharp claws.
As Garchomp was getting closer, Arcanine fired.
Jaden: Use... huh?
Arcanine fired a shock wave generated by its mouth and landed a super-effective hit.
Garchomp was pushed back and looked to have felt it.
Garchomp dropped to one knee.
Cynthia: Well well. A new attack. Arcanine is really strong and senses how stronger Jaden wants to get. Their bond is incredible. Similar to that of mine and Garchomp's.
Then she noticed how all of his Pokemon were cheering them on.
Cynthia: Wow. I've never seen anything like that. They sense their trainer's will and want to use that to fuel their strength.
Jaden: Are you okay, Arcanine?
Cynthia: Let's stop.
Jaden: Huh? Why?
Cynthia: There's no reason to continue. Our difference in power is clear but you are getting better and your Pokemon too. So I think heading to Hoenn is the best thing to do.
Jaden: You think so, huh?
Cynthia: I do.
Jaden: Then I'll leave next week.
Cynthia: But before you leave, let's have some fun.
Jaden blushed as he realised what she meant.
Cynthia grabbed Jaden's arm and lead him to their bedroom.
1 week later...

Jaden and Arcanine were getting on a boat which was heading to Hoenn.
Cynthia: Good luck, Jaden.
Jaden: Thanks.
Cynthia: Are you sure you're not taking any of your Pokemon?
Jaden: I'm sure. I want to start anew in Hoenn. Gathering new Pokemon and building a team, which probably won't be easy.
Cynthia: Of course it won't, especially because of the champion.
Jaden: Who's the champion?
Cynthia: I don't want to spoil the surprise but his name is Steven.
Jaden: Steven. I'll remember that name.
Cynthia: I should warn you that he's almost on the same level as me.
Jaden: Really? Then that's all the more reason to go there.
Cynthia: I wish you luck, Jaden.
Mom: Good luck, son.
Jaden: Thanks.
They kissed before he boarded.
Jaden and Cynthia waved goodbye, so did his mom.
Jaden: Our new journey begins, Arcanine. You ready?
Arcanine barked in response.
Jaden's journey to Hoenn is about to begin.
