After winning the Boulder Badge, Jaden's next stop was Cerulean City. Before he left Pewter City, he headed to the Pokemon Centre to heal his Pokemon.
He was told that the next Gym uses Water-type Pokemon, so training Bulbasaur would be the best option.
Jaden: I'll use Bulbasaur to battle wild Pokemon to make him stronger.
And so he did. Every wild Pokemon he saw he battled. And sometimes he used his others to battle too.
Then suddenly...
Jaden: Bulbasaur, use Magical Leaf!
Trainer: Dodge Wartortle, and use Water Gun!
The two attacks collided with each other. The trainer and Wartortle couldn't see. Then... they saw Bulbasaur emerge from the smoke.
Jaden: Finish with Razor Leaf!
Trainer: Wartortle no!
Wartortle was defeated.
Trainer: Oh man. That was a good battle, my friend. Your Bulbasaur's quite strong.
Jaden: Thanks. He's been training every chance we have.
Jaden was patting Bulbasaur's head. Then suddenly... a light started to glow around Bulbasaur.
Jaden: No way!
Once the light faded, Bulbasaur wasn't Bulbasaur anymore.
Jaden: You evolved! Let's see.
Pokedex: Ivysaur, the Seed Pokemon, and the evolved form of Bulbasaur. When the bid in its back starts swelling, a sweet aroma wafts to indicate the flowers coming bloom.
Jaden: Awesome. You evolved. And you even learned Sweet Scent too. Now the Cerulean Gym has no chance.
Trainer: Wow. Evolution is something extraordinary, right? Well, see ya around.
The trainer left.
Jaden and Growlithe were excited about meeting Ivysaur.
They continued their journey to Cerulean City and while heading there, they found some new Pokemon.
Jaden: Woah! That's new.
Pokedex: Oddish, the Weed Pokemon. It may be mistaken for a clump of weeds. If you try to yank it out of the ground, it shrieks loudly.
Jaden: A Grass-type huh? Alright Pidgey, your turn. Okay, use Quick Attack.
Pidgey charged in and landed a direct hit. But Oddish fought back. It used Poison Powder.
Jaden: It's too late to dodge. Use Gust!
Pidgey used Gust to blow away the poison.
Jaden: Now finish with Wing Attack!
Pidgey landed a powerful Wing Attack and Oddish was defeated.
Jaden: Nice job, Pidgey. What's that?
A Pokemon appeared from the ground.
Pokedex: Sandshrew, the Mouse Pokemon. Its body is dry. When it gets cold at night, its hide is said to become coated with a fine dew.
Jaden: A Ground-type huh? Pidgey's moves won't have any effect. Let's see...
Then suddenly, Metapod appeared from its pokeball.
Jaden: Metapod, what are you doing? You only know Harden.
But Metapod wanted to battle.
Jaden: Alright fine. Use Harden.
Metapod hardened its shell. The wild Sandshrew used Scratch. But it hardly did a thing. Then it used Scratch again.
Jaden: Use Harden.
Sandshrew was getting tired. Jaden switched Metapod out for Ivysaur.
Jaden: Ivysaur, use Razor Leaf!
The wild Sandshrew was immediately defeated.
Jaden: Use job, Ivysaur. You too, Metapod. Nice determination.
Metapod was happy being praised. Then suddenly, Metapod began to glow.
Jaden: It's evolving!
Something started to leave the cocoon and wings suddenly appeared. The evolution was complete.
Jaden: You evolved, Metapod! But into what?
Pokedex: Butterfree, the Butterfly Pokemon. It loves the honey of flowers and can locate flower patches that have even tiny amounts of pollen.
Jaden: Awesome! You can fly too. You learned Confusion, Sleep Powder and Stun Spore. Wait, let's see when Growlithe evolves.
Pokedex: Growlithe needs a Fire Stone to evolve.
Jaden: A Fire Stone huh? Bet that's not easy to find. But my Pokemon keep getting stronger, and we'll keep getting stronger as we get along.
Two of Jaden's Pokemon have evolved and learned new moves. He is learning more about Pokemon each day.
And the dream continues...
