After leaving Seafoam Islands, Jaden and Cynthia arrived at Cinnabar Island.
They headed to the Pokemon Centre to rest up. Jaden transferred Tauros and Ninetales to Professor Oak. He got Porygon and kept Lapras.
Jaden: Hey Cynthia, I have something for you.
Cynthia: What is it?
Jaden revealed Porygon.
Cynthia: What is it?
Jaden: It's a Porygon. I want you to have it.
Cynthia: Really? Why?
Jaden: Because... mainly it doesn't suit me and it's a Pokemon surrounded in mystery. I know how much you love the mystery around historic monuments.
Cynthia: If you're sure.
Jaden: I'm sure.
Jaden handed Porygon to Cynthia.
Cynthia: I shall take good care of Porygon.
Jaden: I'm sure you will.
They left the centre and saw the Cinnabar Lab is doing a live reconstruction of an ancient Pokemon.
Cynthia: Shall we have a look?
Jaden: Sure.
They headed to the lab.
Scientist: Ladies & gentlemen, today we are restoring an Aerodactyl from a fossil!
The audience applauded.
Cynthia: Wow! This is the first time I'll see a restoration of a Pokemon in the flesh. This will be a moment I won't forget.
Jaden: What happens when it gets restored?
Cynthia: They'll most likely catch it with one of their pokeballs.
Jaden: Oh, okay.
The scientists used a machine on the fossil that will restore it.
After a big flash, the restoration was complete. Aerodactyl was restored from the fossil.
When one of the scientists tried to use his pokeball, the Aerodactyl freaked out and was using it's moves.
The audience panicked and quickly exited the lab.
Jaden: What should we do?
Cynthia: I don't know. Aerodactyl is freaking out.
Jaden: Should we fight it?
Cynthia: I'm not sure. That'll scare it even more.
Then the Aerodactyl escaped by blasting a hole in the roof and flying out.
Jaden and Cynthia exited the lab and followed it.
Aerodactyl landed on a car and kept using Hyper Beam.
Cynthia cautiously approached it.
Cynthia: Hey Aerodactyl! Calm down, just calm down. It's okay. You've been restored into a strange world and you're scared. I understand that.
Cynthia placed her right hand on its head.
Cynthia: You're safe now.
But the scientists surrounded them.
Jaden: Hey stop!
Aerodactyl saw them and freaked out again.
Jaden: Cynthia, look out!
Jaden ran towards her and got her from harm's way.
Jaden: You okay?
Cynthia: Thanks to you, yeah.
Jaden: It's getting away.
Cynthia: Go after it.
Jaden: Really?
Cynthia: Of course. I trust you.
Jaden kissed Cynthia then he and Growlithe followed Aerodactyl.
They followed it to a small mountain.
Jaden: Okay Aerodactyl, let's battle. Go Lapras! Let's check it's moves. Ice Beam, Blizzard, Hydro Pump and Dragon Pulse.
Aerodactyl took the first move and used Rock Slide.
Jaden: Lapras, use Ice Beam!
Ice Beam froze the falling rocks.
Aerodactyl flew up and used Stealth Rock. Giant rocks surrounded Lapras.
Jaden: What's Stealth Rock?
Pokedex: Stealth Rock. This move causes damage to Pokemon that have been substituted.
Jaden: I have to beat it with Lapras. We can do this. Use Dragon Pulse!
Aerodactyl dodged and used Rock Slide again.
Jaden: Lapras, use Dragon Pulse!
Dragon Pulse fires through and destroyed the rocks. It also made contact with Aerodactyl. Aerodactyl fell to the ground.
Jaden: Now use Ice Beam!
Ice Beam made contact and froze one of Aerodactyl's wings. It tried to fly but couldn't.
Jaden: It's trapped. Now use Ice Beam again!
Lapras fired a beam of ice at Aerodactyl, but Aerodactyl countered with Hyper Beam.
Ice Beam and Hyper Beam collided and made a huge explosion.
Jaden: I can't see. Keep using Ice Beam!
Lapras fired a series of ice beams.
Aerodactyl emerged from the smoke and flew into the sky.
Jaden: I thought it's Wing was frozen. Must've melted. Use Blizzard!
A very chilling blizzard was summoned. Aerodactyl couldn't escape it.
Jaden: Now finish with Hydro Pump!
Lapras fired a powerful stream of water and Aerodactyl took a super effective hit.
Jaden: Now, go pokeball!
Jaden threw a great ball and Aerodactyl went inside. The great ball tilted for a few seconds... and stopped.
Jaden: Alright. We caught Aerodactyl! What a strong Pokemon to have.
Then someone was clapping not far.
Jaden: Hey Cynthia.
Cynthia: I watched your battle. It was great. And you even caught it. That's a powerful Pokemon to have.
Jaden: I know. And I feel ready to take on the Gym.
Cynthia: You know, it's Valentine's Day soon. Are we gonna celebrate?
Jaden: Of course. When I get my seventh badge, we'll celebrate.
Jaden and Cynthia hugged each other.
???: Ha ha ha! You feel confident about taking on the gym?
Jaden: Who said that?
Blaine: I'm Blaine, the Cinnabar Island Gym Leader. I take it you'll be my next challenger?
Cynthia: He sure is. And he'll be ready.
Blaine: I see. I can't wait for our battle tomorrow. Well, see ya then.
Blaine left.
Jaden: What kinds of Pokemon does Blaine use?
Cynthia: He uses Fire-types. So Lapras and Aerodactyl will be useful.
Jaden: And we'll win.
After catching an Aerodactyl, Jaden met Blaine, the gym leader. Will Jaden be able to get his seventh badge?
