Jaden and Cynthia arrived at Orange Islands for Jaden to challenge Drake, the champion.
Jaden: Finally. I was getting a bit stiff.
Cynthia: What do you want to do first?
Jaden: Well, registering for the league and checking out the island.
Cynthia: Let's find the Pokemon Centre and put our things there.
They secured a room in the centre and put away their luggage.
Cynthia: Let's go find the registration.
After a little looking, they eventually found the register.
Jaden: Hi, I'm entering the Orange Islands League.
Receptionist: Okay. To compete you have to be the champion of Kanto.
Jaden: I have. Just a few weeks ago.
Receptionist: Let's see. Ah, here it is. Jaden from Twinleaf. Your match with Drake is scheduled tomorrow.
Jaden: Thanks. What should we do now?
Cynthia: Let's go sightseeing.
Jaden and Cynthia went sightseeing throughout the island.
They climbed the mountain on the island and saw the extraordinary view.
Cynthia: Wow! Look at it. It's amazing, right?
Jaden: It is. I would never imagine doing this with nobody else but you.
Cynthia: Me too.
Jaden: Um, can I ask something?
Cynthia: What is it?
Jaden: If you don't want me to leave and go to another Region, then I understand.
Cynthia: Where's this coming from?
Jaden: It's just... I saw how happy you were when we moved into our new house and spent time together.
Cynthia: I was, of course enjoying the time we were having. But I knew about the reason why you were on this journey. To become stronger, for you and me.
Jaden: But am I being selfish?
Cynthia: Of course not. Every trainer leaves their home to pursue their dreams. And you're doing the same.
Jaden: Thanks. I needed that reassurance.
Cynthia: Good. Now let's finish our day before it gets too dark.
Jaden and Cynthia went down the mountain and finished their day of sightseeing.
They went back to their room in the Pokemon Centre.
Cynthia was sleeping while Jaden was awake beside her.
Jaden: Wow. Tomorrow is the big day. My battle against Drake. It's going to be tough. Probably my biggest battle yet. It's said he's stronger than the Elite Four. I can't get nervous. I'm ready and I know my Pokemon will be ready.
Cynthia: Hmm. Jaden?
Jaden: Sorry Cynthia. I didn't mean to wake you.
Cynthia: It's okay. You're nervous. I know I would be. Come here.
Jaden: Huh?
Cynthia held out her arms, indicating for Jaden to hug her.
Cynthia: Let me hug you. Let me embrace you.
Jaden embraced Cynthia as she was helping him relax.
Jaden: You feel warm. Thanks.
Cynthia: You're warm, too. And I'm happy.
The next day...
Announcer: Welcome everyone, as we see Drake take on the new champion of Kanto: Jaden!
Jaden and Drake entered the battle.
Cynthia was watching from the audience.
Drake: I see Gary's been defeated.
Jaden: Yep. And I'm here to beat you.
Drake: You're confident. I like that. But it's me who's winning.
Referee: This battle between Orange Islands League champion Drake take on Kanto champion Jaden. This will be a six-on-six battle. The battle will be over when one side's Pokemon are unable to continue. Furthermore, the challenger is allowed to make substitutions. Drake isn't. Now, bring out your Pokemon!
Jaden: Go Arcanine. Let's start strong.
Drake: Go Ditto!
Jaden: A Ditto?
Jaden is taking on Drake, who's said to be the strongest around. And his first Pokemon is something Jaden hasn't seen before. Will he be victorious?
