The Johto League has begun and Jaden's path to winning is near.
Announcer: Please welcome a familiar face, Jaden! The champion of Kanto!
Jaden walked out.
Announcer: And on the other side, please welcome Elite Four member, Will!
Will walked out.
Will: I've heard many things about you from my colleagues. I can predict a strong and almighty battle that will end in my victory.
Jaden: Your skills are out of wack because it'll be me who'll be victorious.
Will: We shall see.
Referee: Players, take your positions!
Jaden and Will took on their sides of the field.
Referee: The first match will now begin. Will can use five Pokemon while Jaden can use all six. Furthermore, both trainers are allowed to make substitutions. Now, reveal your first Pokemon!
Will: Xatu, I choose you!
Jaden: Ariados, let's go!
Both Pokemon entered play.
Announcer: Their first Pokemon have been revealed. Now, let's start this battle!
Referee: Battle begin!
Will: Xatu, Air Slash!
Xatu fired blades of air.
Jaden: Dodge and use X-Scissor!
Ariados jumped to dodge and slashed at Xatu with its front claws like scissors. Ariados landed a hit.
Will: Let's see what your battle style is, Jaden. Use Ominous Wind!
Xatu blasted Ariados with a gust of repulsive wind. Xatu's stats were increased.
Jaden: That move's strong. Even if it doesn't hit, the user's stats get raised and it'll get stronger. That could hurt me the longer Xatu stays in battle.
Will: Use Zen Headbutt!
Xatu charged in after focusing its willpower to its head.
Jaden: Ariados, use Poison Jab!
Ariados jumped onto Xatu's back and jabbed it. Xatu took a direct hit.
Will: No Xatu!
Xatu was able to shake off the attack.
Jaden: Ariados, return for now.
Announcer: And it's Jaden who makes the first substitution. Who's his next Pokemon?
Jaden: Go Umbreon!
Announcer: Umbreon is Jaden's next Pokemon. Now Umbreon makes sense, seeing as it's a dark type.
Will: I'm finding it hard to figure out what his style is. But, he won't my next move coming. Use Miracle Eye!
Jaden: Huh? Miracle Eye?
Umbreon was hit with a weird, unknown power.
Cynthia saw what happened.
Cynthia: Oh no. Be careful, Jaden.
Jaden: What's Miracle Eye?
Will: Let me show you. Use Zen Headbutt!
Xatu focused its willpower and attacked Umbreon.
Jaden: Umbreon's dark type so it shouldn't have any effect.
But to Jaden's surprise, Umbreon took a hit.
Jaden: What?
Announcer: And Umbreon took damage. All thanks to Miracle Eye.
Jaden: What's Miracle Eye?
Will: If you haven't figured it out yet, Miracle Eye allows dark types to be hit by psychic types and take normal damage. So, thinking you'd be safe was wrong. Now use Air Slash!
Xatu fired blades of air.
Jaden: Use Dark Pulse!
Umbreon's attack matched Xatu's.
Will: Xatu, use Zen Headbutt!
Xatu flew down towards Umbreon.
Jaden: Umbreon, use Throat Chop!
